It's My Fault

Chapter 5

I was being called so I opened my eyes "Huh?" Grace smiled at me, "Where did you go?" I shook my head and she didn't push. "Here I finished my part. All is needed is yours then we are done." I took my laptop back and started working. After a while I felt like I was being watched so I had looked up. Grace was staring and smiling at me. I raised a eyebrow at her and said, "You're so weird." She chuckled and agreed and I went back to my work, couple minutes later, "Alright it's done." I looked up and gave it to her. "Man this looks so cool. We are so going to get an A." I chuckled and her parents came down the hall. "Hello guys how's the work going?"  Looking behind me I said "Just finished." They had wide smiles on their faces and walked over. Grace handed them my laptop and they started playing the game from what I could hear from the music. Grace scooted next to me and we watched her parents play the game. While they were playing Grace whispered, "After this what kind of movie do you want to watch?" I thought about it and shrugged, "Up to you I don't really care." She hummed and then her parents finished the game. Grace's dad handed it back to me, "Wow that was great you two. I'm sure you'll both pass the class." We smiled at them and I closed my laptop. "Alright we are going to head in the back to our room. Have fun you two." We waved at them and they left. Grace quickly looked over at me and said, "Movie time!" I laughed and she jumped off the couch to go to the T.V. Grace went through her movies before picking one and putting it in. She walked back over and sat down leaning back. She then suddenly asked, "Do you want some popcorn or something?" I shook my head, "Nah I'm good for now. Thank God it's Friday though." Shifting around I leaned my head back while the movie trailers came on.

I heard her laugh next to me, "Oh yeah for sure. I hope you like the notebook." I hate dramatic movies. They are so boring. Can't blame her though, she doesn't know much about me. Nodding I lifted my head to watch the screen. About halfway into the movie Grace had laid down with her head in my lap which I didn't mind because Rose used to do that all the time. I was incredibly bored with the movie but every time I looked down at Grace she was so into it. How is she watching this. I took a deep breath and felt my eyes start to droop. I didn't realize how tired I was until now. This movie isn't helping either. Yawning I leaned my head back looking at the ceiling and my eyes slowly started to close. I tried fighting against it but it was too strong and ended up sleeping shortly after. A beam of light was perfectly positioned to where it was hitting my eyes. I slowly opened and rubbed them so I could properly see.  Slowly sitting up I stopped when I moved my head a certain way I groaned and started rubbing my neck to try and get the kink out of it. I rolled my neck hoping that it would help and heard a loud crack releasing the tension making me groan. Hearing footsteps coming I looked over and saw Grace come around the corner. She had short shorts on and a tank-top. She ran a hand through her hair and looked over at me, "Morning Ellie. Sorry that I left you on the couch. You were fully asleep I didn't want to move you." I nodded and ran a hand through my hair, "Well the kink in my neck provides the evidence." She laughed and apologized, "Want any food?" I looked at the time on my phone and shook my head. "I should be getting back home. This was kind of a unexpected sleep over." I got up and started walking to the door. "Well thanks for letting me sleep over I guess." We both laughed and I stepped outside. "It's totally okay I'll see you on Monday then." I nodded and she pulled me into a hug. After the hug I pulled away and waved at her while walking to my car. She waved back and I made my way back home.

When I got home my dad had just walked out. "Where have you been?" I went to hug him and said, "I had accidentally fallen asleep on Grace's couch when we were watching a movie. Oh by the way we finished the project." He smiled and pulled away walking to the kitchen. "Want something to eat?" I followed him and said, "Please." He chuckled and started pouring cereal for us. He slid the bowl to me after he was done pouring and I quickly started eating. I asked my dad, "So we have plans for today?" He shrugged, "Not really. You want to do something?" Now it was my turn to shrug, "I don't know. I was thinking about sleeping for a bit though. On an actual bed this time." He laughed and I smiled. "I'm going to take a nap now. See you in a couple of hours." I waved and walked to my room. I took off my shoes and flopped onto my bed rolling to my side facing the door and closed my eyes.

Flashback
Rose and I just got to the street that the party was going to be on. Rose wrapped her arm around mine and was jumping from excitement. "My gosh Ro calm down a little bit. You're going to embarrass yourself." She stopped jumping and said, "Ugh I can't. I'm just so excited. Are you going to drink Ellie?" I shrugged, "I might if I feel up to it." She nodded and we could hear the slight base of the music coming from ahead. The more we got closer the more the music got louder. "This is it Ellie." I squeezed her arm and said back, "This is it." She held onto my hand and pulled me to the party faster, "Come on let's go."

I woke up when it was dark out. I rubbed my eyes and ran a hand through my hair and sat up and stretched. I look at the clock and it was just 8:00pm.  Getting up I went to the bathroom, and went to the livingroom. I found my dad on the couch watching a movie, "What you watching?" He looked over at me and smiled. "James bond movie." I jumped over the couch and sat down wanting to join. About an hour later the movie ended and my dad got up to stretch. "Alright I'm hungry do you want to go get some food?" I nodded and got up, "Let me go put on some shoes." I jogged to my room and quickly put on my shoes. I heard my dad yell down the hall, "YOU GOT 5 SECONDS BEFORE I LEAVE YOU HERE!" I laughed and he started counting down. "5!" I quickly changed from my T-shirt to a tank-top and put a sweater over it. "4!" I ran a hand through my hair. "3!" I walked out of my room and saw my dad smirk. I ran over and he quickly said "2,1." We both started laughing and my dad put his arm over my shoulder. "Let's go eat."
