Her head tilted ever so slightly. "My brothers name is Cooper too. I think he's your age... You are 17 right?"
I laughed and smiled. "That I am Lila. You know, your nickname is now Li(lee)."
She smiled brightly. "My brother used to call me Li. Said it was easier than Lila."
"Your brother is a smart kid." I nodded.
We talked for a while, damn she's smart. She knew a lot of stuff about things in life, and seemed like a wise girl.
"Be my friend?" She asked quickly.
I laughed and nodded. "As long as you will be my friend."
I looked at my watch and held in a curse. I was supposed to be home 20 minutes ago. "Li, I gotta go. See ya!"
"Bye!"
With that, I grabbed my bag, and took off for the house. Within a few feet of my house I heard yelling and a loud bang.
