"River.

What's a boy like you doing around here?" She questioned, looking down at me.

"Ran away."

"Huh. I did too. Why?"

"Toxic step-dad that killed my adoptive mom. What about you?" I sighed.

"Damn. That's dark. Well, I ran away because of neglect. My father refuses to acknowledge my existence. So caught up in his work, I think he doesn't even remember me. Gets drunk, parties. I get left alone." She said blankly. "But by the way you look, you're running from someone. Who?"

I laughed shortly. "Damn you're smart. I'm running from a group that want to find me. After I was kidnapped as a kid, I guess they erased the memories of my previous family, and got stuck with the one I just had. Now I keep running it them at every corner it seems."

She smirked. "Well, if you get found again, I'll go with. Give me something to do."

I smirked. "I'd like that."

And with that, River and I started a friendship that was unbreakable. We even ended up where I had run from. We never talked about our families names. She got to meet Lila, and Nathaniel. Nathaniel is 7, while Lila is 14.
