My. Life. Sucks.
My name is Amanda. Just Amanda. No last name. The earliest thing I can remember is waking up by a sign. Camp Half-Blood. Me, being the curious seven year old I was, wanders inside.
"New camper!! Get Chiron!" I hear a kid yell. He's tall, blonde and he looks new here. He doesn't look completely at home. " Hi. I'm Luke. What's yours?"
"I'm Amanda, I'm seven, and that's all I know." I say confused.
"Really? Annabeth is going to be happy she's not alone anymore." Luke smirks. A man- wait no a horse- no a part man part horse comes up to us. My eyes buldge at the sight of him.
"Your- your-" I stutter.
"A centaur, dear child. I'm Chiron." The centaur smiles kindly.
"Where am I? All I know is that my name is Amanda and that I'm seven. I don't even know what I look like? But I think I'm mature because I don't sound like a seven-year old. Right?" I ramble. During my 'speech', Chiron's eyes got big.
"You need to come to the Big House." Chiron says as he lifts me up and puts me on his back. I hold on tight and he gallops off to a well, large building. On the porch was an old man in a Hawaiian shirt and khakis. He was drinking a coke. When he saw me his eyes glistened with surprise for a mere second, then it disappeared.
"Director D? Is there a block in the child's mind? She can't remember anything." Chiron asked to 'Director D'. He nods.
"The god who put it there didn't leave a mark to tell who put it there. But, the block is a powerful one." Director D says. "Let's discuss this inside."
We walk inside, me still on Chiron's back. We come into an office like room. It had a fireplace, a couple of couches, and a desk. Director D sat down behind the desk and Chiron sat me down in a chair opposite of Director D.
"Dionysus? She has to be a demigod. But, one not claimed by either parent? And a mortal who negotiated with a god to have her remember nothing? That's unheard of!" Chiron exclaims. I don't really care about what they are talking about. I found a mirror. I look at myself. I have long dark brown, almost black, hair and blue-green eyes. I'm wearing a plain teal shirt and some kiddie athletic shorts. I have a backpack filled with clothes I think. My hair is tied back and I look scared.
"Amanda?" Chiron asks and I zap out of my reflection looking.
"Yes?"
"Do you have any questions?"
"Yes, about everything." I admit.
"Your mature, you can handle this. Do you know anything about Greek mythology?" Chiron asks.
"Like with Zeus and Posideon and other gods?"
"Yes."
"Didn't they die out?" I ask and Director D scoffed.
"No. They are still alive though. They've just moved to the Western Hemisphere." Chiron explains.
"So since you called me a demigod, am a child of a mortal and god?"
"Yes. You may be Athena though. You seem very smart."
"Thanks."
"Now being a demigod means that you have to fight monsters. That's what this camp is for. To train you to fight."
"Cool!" I say.
"I'll let Annabeth give you a tour since she's the only one your age." Chiron informed me. A few minutes later a blonde girl around my age entered. She had storm gray eyes and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail like mine.
