Annabeth POV: I can't believe that I was on a date on top of the Eiffel tower. I sigh happily as I lie on the bed in the hotel that we've stopped in after leaving France. Emma seems rather nervous and upset here. I wonder why.
Nico POV: Emma and I sit on the pavement outside the room we're sharing with annabeth and percy. every time I look at her she seems so distant from me. the third time I look I notice a chain on her neck. eventually I get worried and reach over and touch her shoulder lightly. She looks over at me with tears streaming down her face. I wrap an arm around her waist and pull her close. I don't know what's wrong but I'm comfort her anyway.
"awwww look. she still remembers" jeers a voice.
Emma POV: I look up to the sound of a voice and try not to flinch.
"w..what do you w..want?" I say angrily, hating the stammer.
"I want you dead" she says.
