Percy POV: "I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you wise girl" I whisper to Annabeth after she tells me about what happened while we walk home. Suddenly I swing her around and hug her tighter than I ever did before. I couldn't help it. I couldn't. I let her go after a bit and take her hand and we walk hand in hand to the house. When we get there we walk up to the roof garden and sit down.
"I bet it was Lola who made him do that. she hates me" annabeth mutters. I edge closer and wrap an arm around her shoulders and run my hand through her hair.
"I love you Wise girl" I whisper.
"I love you too" she says and relaxes against me and we watch the sunset together. we got no homework as it was the first day of summer.
"isn't the sunset the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" says annabeth.
"second most beautiful" I reply, looking down at her and in the fading light she blushes and we kiss.
