Beeep. Beeep. Beeep.

The never-ending beeps of his alarm clock end his sleep as Aaron's dangling hand struggles to put it off, constantly beating the side table, causing the detention letter of the Principal to fly away and crash somewhere. Then he realizes.. he set his alarm on his phone.

As Aaron pulls his blanket over him, the noise of paper flapping makes him agitated. He finally gets on his feet to see what's up. It's the freaking calendar hanging on one remote side of his enormous, sky-blue wall. He walks past all those books laid on the floor, all those pencils and paintbrushes and the paper scraps, and stands there, facing the calendar. Amidst all the circles and crosses there, one day looks vibrant.

18th August 2018. Today.

As Aaron wonders why it looks flashy, it hits him just as the phone beeps again. Not the alarm, now.

' 'Yoo. House Number 14-B, Road 03, St. Getty's Avenue. Get yo' ass here by 7. Ash XO''

How did she even get his number?

As Aaron scrolls down to the message details, the digits of Ashley's number play cards inside his mind. His first, unintentionally received number, from a girl, that is. He inhales and exhales deeply, and then suddenly... knock knock.

''Who's there''?

''Your Mom''

''Mom, who?''

''Not the time to joke,  Aaron. Have your room cleaned in 5 minutes, or say goodbye to your morning meal''.

And then suddenly, his pulse drops just as he grips the theme of the message. The party is at Riley's.  The O.M.G moment is finally here.

''Are you done cleaning your room?'' his mother asks as she separates Aaron's breakfast from him.

''Duh. It was clean. Kinda.''

His mother gives a quick irritated look as she stuffs the spoon of cornflakes inside her mouth, and this quickness suggests that she might just be in a good mood.

'' Mom...?''

''Hmmn?'' .His mother says without looking up.

''Can I like...go to a friend's house tonight?''

She finally looks up, just not the look he expected.

'' How dare you...''

''Mom...I'll be back an hour before the curfew. Promise.''

Mrs. Reeves looks down at her bowl, her face colder than Aaron's milk.

''Aaron....''

Aaron shuts his eyes tight. He cannot watch this scene. Never.

''....an hour before curfew, okay?''

A concluding sip of the milk, and he was never to be found again.

Aaron adjusts his bow tie and brushes his suit as he faces the door sign that reads 'Riley' in bold, cursive letters. He watches his faint reflection on the character, visible enough for him to comb his hair to give one final touch, and the door swung open before he could even touch his hair. Standing at the doorway, the woman with long. black hair, skin-tight jeans, and a bandage on her forehead looks at Aaron intently.
