Theo and I sat in my bedroom with tons of papers sprawled across my floor. We printed every document we could find about Gina and Nolan. There had to be at a hundred pieces of paper. We looked through about half of them highlighting the most important parts of each paper. We still had found nothing useful. Theo threw his hands up over his head surrendering from this daunting task. I leaned back against my bed, tired and bored.

"We are wasting our time..." I said beginning to yawn.

Theo sat for a moment wanting to say something yet he didn't. I could see it on his face that he was getting ready to say 'let's give up'.

"Time with you is never wasted." He said picking another paper and scanning through the information.

A smile spread across me face. He always seemed to know exactly what to say. He deserved someone better than me. I have nothing to offer him but he had to know that, he knows everything about me. I grabbed the piece of paper out of his hands crumpling it to a ball and throwing it into the corner of my room. He smiled, I could feel the tension release as he began to relax.

"I want to let you know that there is a possibility of 'us', if you ever take me out on a date...." I said emphasizing my words.

His eyes darted to mine and I laughed at the expression on his face. He looked like a child on Christmas morning. I felt bad for telling him there's a chance since I'm not sure of my feelings for him yet. It doesn't mean that I won't 'like like' him some day but as of now I don't.

"What are we even supposed to do on a first date I know everything about you. I know when you get your period for god sake." He laughed.

"When is it?" I asked confused and a little sarcastically.

"Two weeks and four days from today. Anyway that isn't my point, a first date will just be awkward. There is nothing that we have to share that the other doesn't already know!" Theo stared at me, his cheeks flush.

I shrugged, a smirk across my face.

"I guess we will never know if there ever could be anything between you and me...." I sighed playfully.

"Fiiiiinnneee" he said dragging out the word, "Friday at seven."

He grabbed his coat and winked at me before exiting my room, leaving me to clean up this mess.

I checked my makeup several times and adjusted my dress more times than I can remember. I am so nervous and I don't know why. I have known Theo for years, this is just like any other time we have went out. I paced my room back and forth, back and forth. A piece of crumpled up paper caught my eye. I picked it up and uncrumpled it before I threw it away to make sure it wasn't important. My mouth fell agape and I wanted to scream but no sound came out. It was a marriage license. A marriage license for......

Theo's car pulled into the drive way and I ran down the stairs as fast as I could with the paper in my hand. He needed to know this. This paper changed the game of our investigation.
