I sat in a dark room, so dark it hurt my eyes. I kept squeezing my eyes shut hoping to wake up from this terrible nightmare. The silence was unbearable. I could hear my labored breaths. There was no outside noises. I pulled my knees up to my chest, my eyes tingling with tears. Where am I?

I'm not sure how large the space was that I was being kept in, but I was too scared to move. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. A tear slipped from my eye and I quickly whipped it away. This was no time to be crying. I needed to be strong, to be brave. I tried to remember anything of how I got here. Nothing came to mind. I remember getting ready for a date but I can't even remember with who. A slice of light broke into the darkness as a screeching noise erupted in the room. I shielded my eyes, the light burning them. Something slid across the floor and then the screeching happened yet again and the light dissipated as the door closed. I felt around in the darkness and my hand grabbed what felt to be a bag. Nervously I ripped open the bag to find a bottle and what seemed to be a bag of chips. I opened the bottle and drank whatever it was inside, realizing just how thirsty I had been. Some of the liquid dripped down my face in the frenzy. A wave of tiredness swept through my body and suddenly my eyes felt to heavy to keep open. I comfortably laid myself down on the cold, damp concrete floor before I passed out.
