Hazel's POV

"Where are they?" I muttered as I scanned the dark room. It was midnight, and I'd just shadow travelled Piper to the entrance hall, and we were awaiting my brother and his SOULMATE OMG I'M STILL SO HAPPY FOR THEM!!!!! Ahem. Where was I?

Oh right. Waiting for Nico.

"Come on." whispered Piper. "I could be asleep right now!" I shot her a glare through the dark.
"Pipes! This is important!" she sighed.
"I know, but we have Transfiguration tomorrow with the Slytherins, why couldn't they have told us then?" she whispered. We fell into silence again, crouching underneath the staircase. Suddenly, there was a small whoosh and Nico and Will fell out of the shadows.

"Fu-"
"Language!" I whispered as I helped Will up. He blushed, and muttered a soft sorry.
Piper turned to Nico.
"So, what's this idea you have?" she asked him after he took a sip of Unicorn draught. Both of us carried it in case we had to shadow travel. Doctor's orders.

"Okay, so we can make virtual portals through shadows, right?" I nodded and gestured for his to go on. "Well, what if we could make those portals bigger? And clearer? We're traveling through shadows, but we could be able to saturate the darkness enough so that-" Piper groaned.
"In english please? It's too late for me to think." Nico glared at her through the darkness.

"Basically, he's saying they should be able to make a transparent portal. Kinda like an Iris message."
"Thanks doc." Will chuckled.

"Anyway, I'm pretty sure we can do it, but I'll have to ask dad." Will frowned.
"You're not thinking about shado-"
"Through dreams." Nico interrupted. Okay, that should work.

"Be quiet!" Piper hissed. Suddenly I felt like I couldn't open my mouth. Right. Charmspeak.
A slow clacking echoed around the hall, which meant one thing. Footsteps.

"I'm not sure Minerva." said a squeaky voice. Flitwick. "We can't let him do that!"
"I know Filius." said McGonagle sighing. "But what choice do we have?"
"A large one actually! Most of the school is on our side! I can't speak for Slytherin," Nico and Will tensed beside us. "But I'm sure there are hardly any death eaters anywhere else!"
The footsteps faded away, finally letting us breath.

"I can't speak for Slytherin? He's a teacher! They're supposed to be impartial!" seethed Will.
"Calm down." said Nico taking his boyfriends hand. "Of course it isn't fair. We know that." A heavy silence fell around the four of us, feeling almost suffocating.

"As enlightening as that was, I'm tired, and we have classes tomorrow. Is there anything else?" said Piper yawning. Nico shook his head.
"See ya." he said, and then he and Will melted into shadows.

...........

Will's POV

I stumbled out of the shadows into the Slytherin common room, with Nico next to me.

"Well that was interesting." I said to Nico as I shuddered, still feeling the cold air of the shadows on my arms. He shrugged, and yawned LIKE A KITTEN OH MY GOD WHY IS HE SO CUTE??? Nico glared at me, crossing his arms.

"What are you-yawn- looking at Solace?" I grinned, feeling myself melt, and walked over to him. "Nothing." I said hugging him from behind. He sank into the hug, eventually leaning on me. I looked around the deserted common room. The fires were gently dying out, the embers drenching the room in a soft golden glow. Shadows crept in from the corners of the room, flickering with the fire.

"Lets go to bed now." I said pulling away from the hug.
"You go ahead." said Nico looking at the glass wall. I frowned.
"Nico, you need to sleep." He crossed his arms in front of his chest again.

"I can't. Nightmares." he mumbled, looking down. I looked at him for a moment, and then picked him up.

"What in Hades, Solace!" he yelled as I swung him into a bridal carry. I grinned.
"Sleep, now. Doctors orders. Besides," I started to climb up the staircase. "You haven't had too many nightmares that resulted in you screaming recently." his face took a pinkish tinge.
"That's because you were sleeping with me." he grumbled into my chest.
"Meh."

We reached the dorm we were in, and slowly opened the door. We'd only been in here once before, which was this morning so I could put away the Unicorn Draught. I walked over to the bed which had Nico's trunk next to it, and placed him down.

"I'm not gonna fall asleep." he said as he crawled under the blankets. I chuckled, and cast a silencing spell around our beds. I leant down and kissed him on the forehead, and then walked over to my own bed.

"G'night love." he blushed scarlet.
"Goodnight Will."

..................

"Will!" I looked around. I was in... where was I?

It was a room... geez. That's all I got. There were hammocks lining the walls, and three blurry banners on the wall. Even though I heard a voice, it was empty. I felt like I'd seen it before, or at least heard about it, but I couldn't put a finger on what it was. What the-

............

My eyes flew open. What? I sat up and stared around the unfamiliar room. Green, Slytherin, um... right. We were at Hogwarts. But what woke me up? Wait a minute... Nico.

I turned to my right, where Nico was sitting upright in his bed, staring at the wall, breathing heavily. He was shaking, and paler than ever in the moonlight. Tentatively, I placed a finger to my soulmate mark, and pushed down.

I was flooded by a wave of fear, panic, and an overwhelming sadness. But as usual, I was detached from it. Nico was scared, okay... Come on Will, think! Panic attacks, what did Micheal teach you about panic attacks...

Nico was shaking, and still hadn't looked away from the wall. I swung my legs down, the cold floor shocking me, and walked over to his bed quietly.
"Neeks..." I wrapped him in a hug. He flinched.
"Stop!" he yelled curling into a ball. I felt a stab of sadness in my chest. This was worse than his usual ones.

"Nico, it's Will." I said leaning into him. "You're fine, we're at Hogwarts, it was a dream. Calm down." I whispered, rubbing circles into his back. He whimpered, but eventually stopped shaking and leaned into me instead.

"You okay?" he nodded, and started playing with his skull ring. I shifted so that I was behind him, and made him lie down.
"Want to talk about it?"
"Not really." he said timidly. I sighed, and slipped under the covers with him.

"Come on Nico, you need to sleep."
