Lovie's POV
"You got lucky with the third date!" I giggled holding the stuffed koala bear Daniel won me. We were walking past the fun house, admiring the festive lights and kids screaming.
"Yeah, I didn't know the fair was in town." He chuckled. "But I'm happy you let me take you out on a third date."
"Well, I always have fun with you." I responded. "Never really dated before so it's a nice new feeling."
"You never dated, or never had a boyfriend?" Daniel asked surprisingly.
"Both I guess." I shrugged. "I had people I liked, but it never went past talking and stuff."
"Stuff like what?"
"Stuff like caramel apples. We should get one!" I smiled walking towards one of the concession stands. Daniel followed behind slowly.
"Cute, I'll let you slide this time." He smiled handling the man money. Taking a big bite out of my apple, we continued to walk around.
"Calm down girl." Daniel chuckled. "It ain't going nowhere." Hitting him playfully on the shoulder, I continued chomping away.
"Aye, ain't that Daquan?" Daniel asked pointing about 100 feet away from where we were. He was right, it was Daquan, playing wack-a-mole with Olivia.
"Yeah that is him." I responded. "He's with Olivia."
"That's Olivia? She's pretty."
Resisting my urge to interfere I stood there and watch him win a beat and give it to her.
"Aww he's being so sweet." I cooed. "I wanna say hi."
"Don't do that." Daniel interrupted now placing his hands on my waist. "Let him be a gentleman on his own."
"That's so cute, you can't say that's not cute!" I cheered.
"It's cute, so stop stalking." Pulling me the other direction we made a stop at the house of mirrors.
"Daniel I don't like this. It's making me confused." Looking at multiple reflections of myself, I found myself lost.
"Hold I'm I'm coming." He responded. "This is cool, but it is a little weird."
"Let leave."
"Yeah we can, just after I'm more thing." Daniel smirked pushing me against a mirror. Staring at me with his deep dark brown eyes, and planting one soft kiss on my lips. It wasn't the first time we'd kiss, but this one felt different. It made me feel all kinds of things. Most importantly, it made me not want to stop. As Daniel tried to pull away, I found myself grabbing his bottom lip for entry again. Daniel was pushed up against me now. And although my curls were being smushed I didn't care. Finally coming up for air, I let out a slight breathe.
Daniel's cheeks were a slight red, you could tell he was flustered. "Wow." He exhaled.
I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "My words exactly." I smiled.
"We should get going." I added trying to get by, but Daniel still held me tightly.
"Not until we make it official." He smiled.
"What do you mean?"
"You can't kiss me like that if we're not together. So I'm asking, will you be my girlfriend Lovie?"
My smile escaping from my serious face "Yes Daniel, I will." We left the house of mirrors and decided to call it a night.
"My feet are about to fall off." I sighed kicking them off in Daniel's car.
"I don't know why you wear those things every time we out." He spoke "you know you're feet are going to hurt every time."
"Well I like looking cute."
"You're cute without them." He chuckled pulling into my apartment.
"Thanks for the compliment but I wear them for me, not for you." I rolled my eyes playfully, stepping out.
"Oh well excuse me" Daniel snapped "Gon' head miss independent."
"You're a mess!" I smiled. Going out with Daniel was becoming like a routine, a good routine. Walking up to the door, Daniel stood and waited.
"So next weekend?" He smiled.
"Definitely, and it's not that late." I shrugged. "If you want to stay for a little, I don't mind." Unlocking my door, Daniel walked in and sat on the couch.
"You want anything to drink?" I offered.
"Nah I'm good, thanks for asking though."
I went into my room to change so I could get comfy. Coming back in my pj set and bonnet.
"Well hello!" Daniel laughed.
"You're my boyfriend now, so you gotta get use to this." I smiled.
"I'm not complaining." Daniel chuckled. "Just observing." Plopping down on the couch next to Daniel.
While smiling, I replied with a "Good." Then continued to go on and on about my class.
While we were chatting, we heard the door open.
"It's one of the best franchises today, you can't not like Marvel." It was Daquan and Olivia, giggling away.
"Hey you guys." I interrupted. Turning towards Daniel and I, their faces went plain.
"Hey Ms. Jones, and Mr. Simmons." Olivia waved. "I was just telling Daquan bye, bye."
Giving her a hug, Daquan watched as Olivia walked back down the hall, closing the door once he couldn't see her anymore, he looked at me trying to contain my smiles.
"Don't even start." He spoke walking to his room. Before I could even begin to aw Daniel covered my mouth.
"Don't do it Love. Let the boy have his date." He chuckled.
Removing his hand "That was so cute!" I smiled running up to Daquan. "How was your date? Did you kiss her?"
Daquan chuckled "We're not doing this Ms. Jones." going back to his room.
"High school love was so easy." Daniel spoke shaking his head. "It's so cute." he chuckled.
"I hated high school, nobody liked me." I responded. "Everybody thought I was weird."
"I would've been your friend." he smiled.
"Well thank you."
We laid there talking, something that we always did. There was always more to be said and more to hear. Daniel talked to me about the other schools he had visited and I talked about my class as always and how I wanted to teach a new course. And I guess time flies by when you're having fun because Daniel and I talked all night.
