Shayla's POV

"Good morning ma." I spoke lightly, not trying to wake up everyone in the house.

We were always morning people, so we had the house to ourselves while everyone was sleep. We were in the kitchen fixing some coffee.

"How come you're not cuddled up to that handsome boyfriend of yours?"

I let out a short laugh "He's not a morning person."

We made our way outside to sit on the front porch deck and watch the sunrise.

"Just out of curiosity, where did you meet him?"

"I was buying some school supplies and I bumped into him." I smiled.

"Well isn't that just the cutest." She smiled. "I really like him Love."

"I'm glad you do, I like him too."

"I wasn't trying to be mean or invasive last night. I just want you be happy."

Hearing my mom say that wasn't just surprising, but it was so necessary. I always felts like she judged me off of her standards.

"I just don't want you thinking I'm inadequate because I'm not like James."

"I never thought that sweetie. You just overthink and worry so much. I don't want you to miss out on life babygirl."

"I won't mom, I promise." I smiled. "Daniel wouldn't let me even if I tried."

We both chuckled and sipped our coffee. After chatting some more, we went back inside to see everyone up.

"There y'all are." My dad groaned.

Daquan and Olivia were eating in the dining room and Daniel was making himself some cereal.

I walked up to him in the kitchen. "Good morning Love." He smiled leaning down to kiss me.

"Good morning."  I smiled kissing him again, this time a bit more sensual.

"That's a great way to start the morning." He smiled.

"Y'all nasty." Daquan interrupted steeping in the kitchen to clean off his bowl.

"I agree." My dad spoke walking into the kitchen as well. "Daquan, do you want to help me work on my car?"

"I'd love to." He answered.

"Great, I'll grab my tool box and meet you outside in the backyard."

Daquan's POV

"This is probably one of the oldest yet coolest cars I've seen." I spoke sitting in the passenger said of the old Mercedes.

"I know, she's one of my newest additions." He smiled rubbing his hands across the wheel.

"Well she's beautiful sir."

"Do you think that Olivia girl is beautiful?" He asked smiling at me.
