Lovie's POV

"Is this good?" I asked Daquan while I was looking at myself in the hallway mirror.

Daquan glanced away from his phone to look then shrugged. "It's fine."

I smacked my teeth. "Fine?" I asked, "do I look put together, sexy hot?"

Daquan scrunched his face "ew, I don't want to look at you like that!" He shrieked, "that's nasty."

"Daquan please, I need help." I pleaded. He sighed and looked at me again.

"Your ass looks nice, put on some heels and wear your hair down."

Shocked by the honesty, I nodded and ran to the bathroom quickly. A few minutes went by and the doorbell rang, I yelled for Daquan to get it.

"Hey, sorry for keeping you waiting." I spoke calmly walking towards him. He looked good, in a suit with no tie and a few buttons undone.

"You're fine, and you look beautiful by the way." He smiled.

"You kids have fun, stay out as long as you want." Daquan smiled and escorted us out.

We made our way to his car. Daniel found a small and intimate restaurant about 15 minutes away. The ride was silent but surprisingly it didn't feel awkward. He held the door for me when we entered the restaurant and he pulled my chair out for me as well.

"So how have you been?" He asked searching the menu.

"Busy, it's exam time." I spoke, " and yourself?"

"Same, I gotta survey the other schools in the district before the year ends. I also have to review this new program for school lunches."

The waiter came up to take our menus and our orders.

"I'll have the New York strip, medium well, large fries with extra salt and a glass of wine." I smiled.

"Where are you putting all that food?" Daniel chuckled.

"It's brain food." I spoke sarcastically which made us both laugh. It felt good to joke again, especially with him.

"You need the energy, Daquan told me you were busy super busy with school." He spoke.

"You've been talking to Daquan?" I asked surprisingly.

He nodded, "yeah we had lunch a few times."

"Is that okay?" He asked and I nodded.

"Oh yeah, that's fine, do whatever you want." I reassured. "I'm happy that you two are getting along."

The waiter came back with our food and as we ate, we continued to make small talk.

"So what did you want to talk about?" I asked.

"Yeah and I just want to say sorry for what I did that night. I shouldn't have come over unannounced and the way I reacted was out of line." He said.

"Yeah, way out of line." I said, "I've never seen you that emotional."

"Yeah, I just couldn't imagine another man being intimate with you." He said taking deep breaths in between. "The thought just gets me so mad."

"I understand, I would've done the same if the roles were reversed." I said, "but I would've killed you."

Daniel laughed "yeah, I know."

"Did you really have a ring?" I asked.

Daniel nodded, "I still do."
