Daquan's POV

I woke up to a quiet morning. Ms. Jones normally goes for a run and would be having her coffee right now, but I didn't smell anything when I entered the living room. Walking into the living room, her and Mr. Simmons were asleep on the couch.

"Good morning" I spoke waking Ms. Jones up as I went to make myself a bowl of cereal.

Jumping up all discombobulated, Ms. Jones stared at me then Mr. Simmons, who was unfazed.

"Hey kid, how'd you sleep?" she yawned.

"Fine once I got past ya'll talking for hours." She made her way to the kitchen to put on some coffee. I grabbed a bowl and poured some Cheerios.

"I'm sorry, we didn't even realize it had been that long." She explained. I watched her as she looked over at Mr.Simmons smiling.

"You really like him, don't you?" I asked.

Trying to hold her excitement, she nodded. "Yeah, I do." she smiled.

"I'm really happy for you Ms. Jones." I smiled pouring the milk

"We're not in school, call me Lovie." she spoke. "Also, I'm sorry if I embarrassed you in front of Olivia."

I chuckled mid-chew covering my mouth before speaking "It was more endearing than embarrassing."

"Are ya'll going to go out again?"

I shrugged "I don't know, the date didn't really go well."

"Aw, what happened?"

"Well first, I kept on spilling water on her. Second, we had a lot of awkward silences. Last, I didn't kiss her goodbye, so it just all went left." I explained. "Lets just not talk about it."

"Okay, I won't say anything else." Once the conversation ended, Mr. Simmons was up and moving.

"Good morning you two." he yawned walking into the kitchen.

"Good morning sir." I spoke cleaning my bowl and spoon. He patted my back then leaned down to give Lovie a kiss.

"Woah there now!" I yelled steeping in front of Lovie. "You go to much dip on ya chip now"

"What?" she chuckled. "You know we've been dating."

"Are ya'll like, boyfriend and girlfriend?"

She nodded hugging Mr. Simmons "Yeah."

I smiled at how happy she was. "Okay Lovie, I'm happy for you."

I made my way back to my room to relax since it was the weekend. Before I could begin playing my game, my phone rang, it was a facetime call from Olivia.

"Good morning." I answered.

"Morning, how'd you sleep?"

"Not that good actually."

"Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I couldn't sleep either."

"Oh word?"

"Yeah because I kept thinking about our date."

"Mhm."

"I thought you liked me."

"I do."

"Then how come you didn't kiss me goodnight?"

I sighed heavily. "It wasn't you Liv, I was just so nervous, my mind and body just won't working right."

"Your ass is always quick to refute me in class, but you get all quiet when nobody around?"

"I guess so."

She paused and a smile came on her face. "So you like me like me!" she giggled. "That's all I needed to hear, bye fool." she hung up and I couldn't help but chuckle a bit.

Lovie's POV

"Okay, what you guys want to know?" I asked my class.

"How are you and Mr. Simmons doing?" Olivia asked.

"We're doing really good." I smiled.

"Do you still believe love is bullshit?" I rebutted.

"I don't know now honestly." Olivia responded.

"You should've never made the statement in the first place. Love always exists." Daquan responded.

"Of course it does fool, just not in many relationships."

"Then those aren't good relationships."

"Okay." I interrupted. "What makes a good relationship?"

"Communication!" One student yelled.

"Respect!" Olivia added.

"Understanding." Daquan spoke as well.

"Good one, anymore?" I asked to the class.

"Friendship." Daquan spoke again.

"Chemistry." Olivia added.

"So, you need all these things for love to happen?" I asked.

"Yeah, they're all interdependent." Olivia spoke.

"I agree." I smiled.

"Do you and Mr. Simmons have all those yet?" A student blurted out.

"Ummmm, no not yet. Everything is still very new." I chuckled.

"How many dates have y'all been on?" Olivia asked.

"If you count every outing, then maybe about four or five."

"Have y'all kissed?" Olivia asked.

"Yes we have." I answered.

"How did it feel?"

Stopping to think, I was saved by the bell ringing.

"Read the next chapter in the book, see you guys tomorrow!" I smiled as they packed up. Daquan walked up to me.

"You and Mr.Simmons have all those things Lovie." He smiled exiting the classroom.
