Third POV.

Sighing, Ruth put her head in her hands. History Class would be the death of her. Tanner's boring voice ran out, it resonated through her whole head, causing a headache to form. She tried to tune him out.

"Miss Gilbert." He called out, Ruth's head shot up. "Not you, Ruth, Elena. Hmm. Elena? Surely you can enlighten us about one of the town's most significantly historical events?" Ruth sighed in relief, she didn't hear the question, hopefully her sister knew the answer.

"I'm sorry, I--I don't know." Her sister stuttered, Tanner glared."I was willing to be lenient last year for obvious reasons, Elena, you too, Ruth. But the personal excuses ended with summer break." Elena felt tears prickle in her eyes, as Ruth felt her face form a scowl.

"You dic-" Stefan cut her off, he didn't want his new friend to get in trouble.

"There were 346 casualties. Unless you're counting local civilians." Elena smiled.

"That's correct. Mister?" He asked his student.

"His last name is Salvatore, but then again, you should already know that, di-" She was once again cut off, this time by the dick himself. People around her chuckled, Bonnie coughed to hide her laugh.

"Salvatore. Any relation to the original settlers here at Mystic Falls?" He asked his student, knowing he had went too far. Ruth was always kind in the class, so to hear her call him a dick, caused him to understand the extent of what he had previously said.

"Distant."

"Well, very good. Except, of course, there were no civilian casualties in this battle."

"Actually, there were 27, sir. Confederate soldiers, they fired on the church, believing it to be housing weapons. They were wrong. It was a night of great loss. The founder's archives are, uh, stored in civil hall if you'd like to brush up on your facts, Mr. Tanner." Everyone around them erupted in 'ooh's' or laughs. Ruth was both of those people. Tanner hummed in embarrassment.

Ruth was getting ready for the Party, as was her sister. They were in the same room, Ruth wasn't feeling it that much, so all she did was put her purple hair into a high ponytail and curled the ends. Then wore a simple black dress, and grabbed her favourite knitted cardigan.

Once the two sisters were done, they headed off. They were conversing about Stefan as they went. "He's cool, Elena, did you see how he jumped in to defend us in History? He's definitely someone I could see you having an epic love with." Ruth used her sister's words against her, Elena nodded and smiled

"Just admit it, Elena." Bonnie said to Elena. They were talking about Stefan again.

"Oh, okay, so he's a little pretty." Ruth scoffed, he was more than that.

"He has that romance novel stare." Bonnie said.

"Stefan gazed deeply into Elena's doe eyes, his green orbs stared at her soul, Elena blushed." Ruth narrated, the three girls giggled.

"So where is he?" Bonnie asked Elena, Ruth nodded along, wondering too.

"I don't know. You tell me, you're the psychic one." Elena quipped, Ruth raised an eyebrow.

"Right, I forgot. Okay, so give me a sec. Grams says I have to concentrate." Their witchy friend told them. Ruth turned to get an empty bottle.

"You can't be a witch without a Crystal Ball." Bonnie laughed and took it out of her hands, she stared blankly at Ruth. She looked to Elena and the two shared a look of confusion. Then Bonnie pulled her hand back, abruptly. "What just happened?" Ruth questioned in worry.
