Third POV.

Ruth, Elena and Stefan had had a movie night, so Elena slept in Stefan's bed, and she slept in one of the guest rooms. She felt lonely, all she wanted was someone to cuddle. But at the same time, she was glad that she didn't, as all she had on was a bralette and a pair of lacy knickers on. She was too warm.

"Rise and shine, Munchkin." Damon called out, standing next to her body. She whined and ignored him. He rolled his eyes and yanked the covers off her body. She screeched and fell to the floor. Damon's mouth grew dry as he stared at her body, it then watered at the sight of her bare neck. She yanked the blanket off him and wrapped it around herself. She then plonked back down on the bed in annoyance.

She curled in a ball and tried to go back asleep, she wasn't embarrassed, he was her best friend, he wouldn't care that he just saw her half naked, and beside he was going to have Katherine. "Let me sleep, Dames." She whined.

After breaking out of his dirty daydream, he chuckled and kissed her cheek. "Come on, Pixie, we have a grimoire to find." She wrapped the quilt around her body and walked to Damon's room, she grabbed a jumper, and a pair of sweatpants. She then dropped the quilt and got changed into the comfortable clothes.

She then grabs Damon's hand and pulls him to his bed. She pushes him down and curls up against his side. Promptly falling asleep, he chuckles as he plays with the girl's hair. The girl who was slowly consuming all of his thoughts, who was making him feel things he hasn't felt since Katherine. But it was already stronger, but he knew it would all go away once he saw Katherine. He just needed to push her away to make sure of that.

Later that day, Ruth was at home planning on dying her hair again. With how much she has bleached it, her hair is healthier than most. Her magic must protect it. After picking a colour, she lathers it onto her super faded hair. She left the dye in and went downstairs. Damon was talking to her aunt.

She helps place some plated on the table, and Damon bumps into Ruth on purpose. She hisses in annoyance and glares playfully at her best friend. "Low blow, low blow. Don't do that." She tells him, moving a piece of her now silver hair out of her eyes.

"Do what?"

"You know what. That move was deliberate, you can't trick me, angel eyes." She smirks as she stands next to him at the sink.

"Well, yeah, I was deliberately trying to get to the sink, princess." He smirks down at her, she giggles lightly. He then moves to the cooker and stirs a boiling pot of water.

"Speaking of Stefan and Elena, where are they? They're missing family night, which I am enjoying immensely." She then realises that they aren't there, she's curious. She knew Stefan went to get the journal from their history teacher, she assumed that Elena was with him.

"Is it real?" He asks his best friend.

"Is what real Blue?" She looked up at him.

"This renewed sense of brotherhood." He takes the spoon out of the pot and tastes the sauce, she doesn't take her eyes away from him. "Can I trust him?"

"Of course, you can, silly." She doesn't understand, why is he asking this? She walks over to the table to place down some napkins. Damon speeds over to her, she turns to stare at her best friend, who was acting strangely.

"Can I trust him?" She looks to him in confusion. "I want you to answer me. Honestly."

"Yes, you can. And if you can't, trust me. I wouldn't betray you." He smiles down at her, as his heart slightly melts. He goes back into the kitchen. She follows him, he speaks up after a few minutes.
