(song)

The rain was falling, pretty loud and pretty hard. I hadn't even opened my eyes yet, and I could feel my
motivation drop from one-hundred to zero in a second. My alarm began ringing, becoming in sync with the rain slamming off the window. I mentally groaned, still not opening my eyes and rummaging through my sheets to find my phone, which was becoming obnoxious at this point.

I can't emphasise enough how hard I slammed the snooze button, making it the only thing I'm willing to do today. I still hadn't opened my eyes yet, but feeling useless without sight. I opened my eyes, the small amount of light that was generating from my phone, was hurting my eyes.

awsten: is that you awake?

I smiled without even realising, only feeling it when my cheeks started to feel cramped, or is that even possible?

me: nah, i'm still asleep.

I could hear ruffling across from my bunk, quickly guessing it was Awsten.

awsten: what are you dreaming about?

I'd be lying if I said i didn't take this seriously at first, it was weird of him to ask, but it looks like something you'd watch in a movie or read in a book, or maybe I am still dreaming.

me: i'm awake

awsten: well... what were you dreaming about?

He was being serious this time, and I felt my hands trembling awkwardly typing a response a clueless response. I smiled texting him back, knowing that he was—what?—a metre away from me.

me: funnily enough, it was about you.

awsten: tell me about it.

me: you're fucking high aren't you.

I laughed, it slowly echoing in my bunk, and out the other.

awsten: i'm actually not, well not this early.
tell me.

me: i was in england, for some odd reason, and i was with my friend.
we were walking along the streets, admiring shit you would normally admire, and i bumped into this guy, and he apologised, i accepted it, and as  i was about to walk away, he handed me a piece of paper with his number on it, which was strange, it was like a sales card he already has it ready and shit. later on in my dream, we went to a concert, i can't remember who, and we were just having a good time, dancing, drinking, singing, as you do.
but something was in the way, like a feeling separating us, but i didn't know what.

awsten: so i was this guy?

me: yes.
what about you, what was your dream?

awsten: this.

"Shit, we should just leave today, it's so horrible out." Geoff mumbled, folding his arms which were covered by a brown jumper.

"We could just stay in and watch a movie, at sometime we'll have to stop for gas, and I could go in and get some snacks?" I suggested, taking a swig of my orange juice I stole from Awsten.
