I returned back to the office and went through the hallways to Mr. Williams's office. I knocked twice then entered the room. He was still seated at his desk, looking at his computer screen.

"Everything's done. I think this will be a success," I said beaming as I went to my desk. I sat down and made sure to save the flyer on the computer; in case we need more.

"That's very good to hear, thank you, Andrew," Mr. Williams said with his cute little half smile. He looked down at his watch then looked to me again and asked, "School's ending in twenty minutes. Do you need a ride home today?"

"Um, I'm not sure. I need to check with my mom." I said, looking down at my phone. I dialed her number, and after the fourth ring, she answered.

"Hey, sweetie" she greeted.

"Hey mom, um will you be able to pick me up today?" I asked her.

"Um," she said, seemingly distracted, "I'm actually on duty now. I'm almost done, I'm getting ready to sell this last house. I'm not sure how long it will be" she said.

"It's fine. I will figure something out," I said, not helping but to be a little upset. I didn't want to ask him again. I feel like I'm overstepping my boundaries when I continuously need his help.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. I promise it won't happen again," she said.

"It's okay. I know you're busy," I told her reassuringly, "I'll just see you at home."

"Alright, sweetie. See you later," she said. We both hung up, and I sighed.

"It's fine, Andrew. I have no problem taking you home," he said, smiling at me.

"Thank you, Mr. Williams. Really, I appreciate you." I told him blushing.

He smirked at me then said, "It's no problem at all" then winked. My heart sped up at an embarrassing pace. You'd think being almost eighteen that I would be out of that hormonal stage...sort of.

We were in his car heading to my home, only this time, we didn't need the navigation since he knew the route now.

"Mr. Williams?" I said, breaking the silence and looking over to him.

"Yes," he said, never taking his eyes off the road.

"Um, what do people like you do outside of school?" I asked him, "I mean, I always imagined teachers being boring, but as the principal, I figured you would be too busy to go out and things," I said.

He smiled a little, then responded, "What do you think people like me do?"

"I don't know. Go home, watch the game, and maybe play with your dog. I don't know, manly things I guess" I said laughing a little and shaking my head at the thought.
