Brian's POV:
A month.
A whole month.
That's how much time we weren't speaking.
Not even a single word.
Not in class, not at lunch, not in school.
It's also how long I wasn't working at the bakery.
At first, his parents were a bit upset and tried to convince me to keep working anyway.
I told them I'd love too, but that school comes first.
And I wish it was true,
Even though I wasn't working, I was failing school.
Well, maybe failing is a hard word,
But my grades were getting lower and lower.
My own mother didn't know what to do with me.
At first, she was ok with the fact that I wasn't working, because she thought I did it so I could get better at school.
But then I stopped going to football practices as well.
I just couldn't find the motivation for it.
What's my future worth living for if I don't even want to be in my current present?
So there I was,
Waking up, going to school.
Getting back home right after,
And that's it.
Well, at least I was still going to school...
That was my only chance to see him.
At first, he was still looking back at me.
I stopped sitting with them, and I wasn't going to sit with Matthew and the others either.
So I just sat alone.
I mean sure,
Everyone else was looking at me as well,
But I only cared for his look.
And then he stopped looking at my direction.
