Jewel.

After I picked up my buttercup Kayla from preschool I took her to Ballet Academy to register her for dance classes. Kayla and I are now headed back home to change clothes. I don't know why I agreed to meet Jayla at TGI Friday's. I texted August earlier to inform him about the dinner, he agreed to come he just might be a little late depending on how long his session takes in the studio.

"Mommy can I wear my pink romper with the flowers?" Mckayla asked.

I nodded my head. "Sure sweetie."

I unlocked the house and walked in with Kayla, locking the door behind us.

"Kayla go brush your teeth while mommy find something to wear, okay?"

I walked upstairs behind Mckayla. I grabbed her toothbrush out the cabinet. Soon as I was about to put tooth paste on her toothbrush she stopped me. "I can do it myself mommy!" She smiled.

I handed her the toothpaste. "Oh really? Excuse me then let me see you do it." I folded my arms as I watched her.

"Not to much Kayla." I stopped her before she squirted too much.

"Okay that's good." I took the tooth paste out of her hand as she began to brush her teeth.

"Don't forget to rinse with water when you're finish."

"I know mommy." Kayla rolled her eyes.

"Uh uh, don't be rolling your eyes." I folded my arms.

I know she get's rolling her eyes from me because I do it all the time to August. Sometimes I  forget I have to change my ways around Mckayla because she adapts to things quickly.

I headed towards my closet to find something to wear. My eyes wandered around my closet until I came across my short cut off J.Brand shorts, a fringed Maison Martin Margiela vest, a YSL hat and platform Azzedine Alaia shoes. I headed towards my bathroom to wash up and brush my teeth. Once I was finished I got myself dressed then I got my baby girl dressed.

I dressed Mckayla in a floral pants romper, with her silver sandals. After the both of us were dressed we went outside to the car. 'I luv this shit' blasted through the speakers, of course I played the clean version with Mckayla in the car.

Mckayla and I sung along until we pulled up at TGI Fridays. I unplugged my iPhone and unbuckled Kayla out of her booster seat.

"Who are we meeting again mommy?" Kayla asked as she grabbed my hand.

"A lady that works with me honey."

I didn't want Mckayla calling Jayla 'auntie' since we aren't on good terms. I rather Kayla call my best friend Ciara auntie before she calls Jayla auntie.

"Welcome to TGI Fridays, how many for your party?" I was greeted by a short blonde male.

"My party is already seated." I smiled.

"Must be the young lady waving over there by the window." He chuckled.

I nodded my head. "Yes, thank you for your help though."

Kayla and I walked over towards a waving Jayla. I'm glad she got us a booth, I hate sitting at tables especially in the middle of the floor. I just hate the thought of someone staring at me while I'm eating.

"Jewel, I'm glad you made it." Jayla smiled.

"Mhm." I made Kayla sit in the inside while I sat on the outside.

"She must be your daughter." Jayla asked.

"Yup I'm Mckayla Milani A-." I covered Mckayla's mouth before she could finish.
