August.
I stripped out of my clothes revealing nothing but my boxers. I turned the light out and climbed in bed next to Jewel who was staring up at the ceiling. I wrapped my arms around Jewel and she flinched.
"What's wrong?" I mumbled in her ear.
"When were you going to tell me that you were going on tour Aug?"
I unwrapped my arms from around Jewel and slid my hands down my face.
"You were listening to our conversation huh?"
Jewel didn't say anything, I can feel her givin' me a blank stare. I heard her gulp.
"Damn man you know I don't like that sneakin' around shit. I said I was gonna tell you later, so why couldn't you wait?"
I heard Jewel sniff, signaling me that she's crying. I hate it when she cry, especially when I'm the cause of it. I'm her man I'm suppose to make her panties wet not her eyes.
"Look baby I ain' mean to go off on you like that. It's just I don't like people to eavesdrop on my conversation, and you should know that by now." I apologized, something I rarely do.
"Say something Jewel." I gently shook her.
"What do you want me to say Aug?" She sighed. "I mean I get it. Your going on tour livin' the life while I'm stuck at home with our daughter. On top of that Kenzie is still out there somewhere."
I sat up in the bed and cut the lamp on. I pulled Jewel up so she was now facing me.
"Livin' the life? what exactly do you mean by that?"
Jewel wiped her eyes. "You know exactly what I mean Aug. You're going to be out at the clubs smoking and drinking; bringing females back to your hotel an-."
I cut Jewel off. I wasn't about to sit here and listen to her ramble on about shit I wasn't even thinkin' about doing. "I know exactly what this is about now, you don't trust me?"
Jewel hesistated to speak, she slowly looked up at me. "Aug it's not that. I just-."
"You just what? Go ahead and say it, you don't trust me."
Jewel sighed. "August I do trust you, I'm just afraid that you'll find someone younger and prettier then me." Her eyes watered. "Don't get me wrong I'm happy for you. I see how dedicated you're to singing what you write, but I know there's going to be plenty of females on that tour that's going to try to get at you."
"And without me being there that gives you more of an opportunity to give in." She added.
I shook my head. I know Jewel doesn't fully trust me yet like she says she does. I get where she's coming from, but this is my career we're talking about. A tour with Trey and Chris will definitely help boost my reputation. I mean people already know who I am, but not enough. I want the world to know who August Alsina is.
"Jewel I understand where your coming from. Don't get me wrong there are some attractive females out here, but that doesn't mean Imma get at em'. I know exactly what I got at home a faithful girl, and a daughter who I love wit' all my heart. I wouldn't let a one night stand fuck up a future I have with you Jewel and you know that. I know Mckenzie is still out there somewhere, and I'm doing the best I can tryna be strong fa' you and our little girls."
"I just want you to admit that you don't trust me, I know it's gonna take time to trust me Jewel. Even though I haven't done anything to make you not trust me. You have to let your guard down, I ain' nothin like ya ex husband."
I wiped the tears that were pouring down Jewel's face. "I do trust you August, but then I have doubts and let my insecurities take over me."
I pecked her cheek. "You can't let your insecurities take over you baby, besides I think you're gorgeous inside and out. If I didn't I would've been let you go, I wouldn't be here with you right now."
I seen a tiny smile form on Jewel's face. "I love you."
"I love you too Aug." Our lips met.
"When does the tour start?" She asked.
"Next month, we'll talk about this more tomorrow. Get some rest." I cut the lamp out and cuddled with Jewel.

I dropped Mckayla off at school, she tightly held my hand as we made it to her classroom. I kneeled down to her level to hug her. Kayla wrapped her tiny arms around my neck and kissed my nose.
"See ya later alligator." She giggled.
I chuckled. "You funny lil' mama. Be good, and ya mama gonna pick you up afta' school to go register for dance classes. Daddy gotta work aight?" I kissed her forehead.
"Okay daddy. I love you." She blew me a kiss before she walked into her classroom.
"I love you too baby gir'."
Jewel.
I made my way into my office. Ever since I found out Jayla is my sister we haven't really conversated. I haven't even been in my office for 5 minutes and I heard a knock at my door.
"Come in." I softly said, taking a sip of my french vanilla coffee.
I rolled my eyes as I seen Jayla standing in my door way with a mischevious grin; lookin' like she's up to no good.
"Goodmorning sis, you have a client."
I furrowed an eyebrow. Did this b*tch really just call me sis?Just because we're blood sisters don't mean she have the right to call me sis.
I nodded my head. "I'll be with them in a sec." I stirred my coffee taking another sip.
A minute passed and Jayla was still standing in my door way. "Did you forget something?" I sarcastically asked.
Jayla tucked her hair behind her ear. "Look Jewel I just want to sit down and talk about everything." She gulped.
I let out an obnoxious laugh. "Talk? What exactly do we have to talk about?"
Jayla interwined her fingers. "About how we're sisters...all of that good stuff."
I shook my head. "There won't be any need for that. Tell my client I'm ready for them." I turned my laptop on.
"Come on Jewel just give me a chance." She pleaded.
I sighed as I thought about it. "Alright I would invite you over for dinner, but I don't trust anyone with my address yet so therefore we can meet at TGI Fridays for dinner 6:45 P.M." I folded my arms.
"Now if you don't mind I'm ready for my client." I smiled.
Jayla nodded her head. "Thank you so much Jewel!" She ran over to hug me but I backed away.
"Don't push it." I fanned her away.
"Your right I'm sorry...I'll go get your client."
A/N: Do y'all think Jewel made the right decision to meet Jayla for dinner?
