My outfit today is a knee length dark blue dress that I picked up at Topshop.  I completed my outfit with a pair of black flats and a few silver beaded necklaces.  Today is the day that my EP debuts.  Today is the day that I am officially in the music industry.

In the afternoon, I began getting ready for the label party.  I straightened my hair and began applying my makeup.  A pastel violet eye shadow, and a light pink lipstick.  I also applied black eye liner and filled in my eyebrows with a new brow pencil I got specifically for this occasion.  When I was finished, the time was four.  The party begins at half past five, but the EP is officially on iTunes at six.

After doing final hair and makeup touches in my bathroom, I hopped down the stairs to the lounge where mum and dad were sitting.  I jumped up onto the sofa from behind.  “Are you two ready! I want to pick up Brie!”

“Give me a minute, dear.  I need to get my heels from upstairs.” Mum stood from the sofa and began walking to the grand staircase.  “In fact, Al, why don’t you just go and pick up your friends.  We’ll meet you there.”

“Alright, see you then.”  I walked out the front door and got into my car with now functioning tires.  I revved up the engine and pulled out of the driveway.  I drove down the road and made a right into the next neighbourhood over, one which Brie happened to live in.  When I pulled up into her driveway, she was already standing in front of her garden.  Her hands were full with two large bags.  One was a coach purse, the other being an elegant appearing purple gift bag.  She ran over (as fast as she could in heels) to my car, and pulled open the passenger door.

“Ally!” She squealed girlishly.  She hands me the gift bag.  “This is for you. I’m so proud of what you’ve done.”

I accept the bag, and thank her.  Now we’re heading to Carmen’s and picking him up.  He resides about fifteen minutes outside the studio, so we have quite a while until we get him.

The music is blaring.  The time is now 5:58.  In simply two minutes I will have an EP on sale.

The clock ticks to 5:59.  60 seconds… now fifty… now thirty… now ten!

Everybody in the room begins hollering.  We count down the seconds.

“Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven! Six! Five! Four! Three! Two! One!”  Roars erupt in the room.  Everyone whips out their devices, snaps photos and purchases the album that is under the title of Ally Hill.  Hill is my birth-given surname.  I got rid of Tomlinson.  I want to be my own person, not living in Louis’ shadow.

While everyone comes up and congratulates me, I wipe the tears that are building up in the corner of my eye.

This is what we work for.  This is the day that singers on the XFactor work for.  This is the day I have dreamt of since that live stream I did when I was thirteen.  This is the day.  Today is the day.

Nearly everyone in the room approached me to congratulate me, but one person that came up to me caught my eye.  Carmen.  “Hey, Ally.  Congrats’.  I remember seeing you at the Auditions of the XFactor, and I’ve known since that day that you’d make it big…” Carmen says with a loving look in his eyes.  I blush.

“Oh, thank you, Carmen…”

“Ally, I would really like to see you more. Want to get something to eat next week? Call me.”

“Oh, I will.  Let’s go have fun!” I try to get off the subject of ‘seeing each other more’.  I do not have the time for a boyfriend.  I want to focus on school and music right now…

I walk over to the food table and help myself to a slice of sausage pizza.  I then pour myself a drink of cola and settle down at a table with Brie.  We talk about everything we can think of.  Graduation, music, and how Brie recently got accepted into a beauty university in Essex.

I will honestly miss her when she goes off to uni.  I plan on staying here to do music.

The party becomes more crowded as the night ages, but by eleven the majority of the attendees have left. Only about a dozen of us remained.  The music was playing softer than before. Brie, Cameron, Jack and I are sitting around in a circle on the ground.  We are discussing all that comes to mind.  Music, uni, life, and all surrounding those topics.  Jack admitted he is only 25, just about seven years older than Brie and I.  Cameron is turning nineteen in a few months, and Jenna (who was here earlier tonight but has already left) is sixteen still.

We’ll all be gone at different times for uni and school.  I won’t likely see them for weeks and possibly even months.  When the night falls to a close, I pull the others into a group hug.  “I will miss you guys… text me anytime,” I whisper.  We then pull away from each other and part ways.
