Chapter 7: Befriending an Octoling

It was early in the morning, like around 5 in the morning as Turquoise started to wake up, noticing that Tailsy is still awake.

"Tailsy...?" Turquoise said. "Why are you awake at this hour?"

"Oh, I didn't sleep. At all," Tailsy replied.

"You...didn't?"

"Nope. I stayed up all night."

"But why?"

"Because I want to keep all of you safe incase something bad happens while we are asleep."

"Yeah, but you do need your sleep..."

"I'll be fine. It's your sleep that is important right now."

"Are you sure?"

"Sure, I'm sure!"

"Well..., okay," Turquoise said as she went back to sleep.

4 hours had passed as ink shootings can be heard. This, however, woke Luci up.

"Hmm? What is happening...?" Luci stood up, yawning a little and looks over to what is making that sound. What she saw was 5 sanitized Inklings and 5 sanitized Octolings who were shooting at Tailsy whom also was shooting back.

She gasps. "Tailsy!!" She said as she gets her Octobrush and heads down. "I'm coming!"

"Hmm?" Tailsy looks behind. "Luci?"

"I'm here to help!"

"Thanks, but no thanks. I don't...," then suddenly the umbrella gets destroyed due to ink damage. "need help...

Well, I actually do need help now."

Luci nods and begins to go forward, swinging her bursh, trying to splat some of the sanitized. A few seconds later, her umbrella comes back.

"Alright, let's do this!"

After a while, both Tailsy and Luci had splatted them all.

"Did we get them all?" asked Luci.

"Yup. We got them," said Tailsy. "Thanks for helping!"

"No problem!"

"I must say. It is a little surprising that you are the first one to wake up. Last time it was Turquoise."

"Yeah. I woke up because of the commotion."

"Sorry if that woke you up! If I had my Classic Squiffer, it would been no problem."

"It's okay! No worries about it! Though, I want to ask you something."

"Sure! What is it?"

"Well...it's about our fight..."

"Uh, what fight are you talking about?"

"You know...the one about winning the golden toothpick..."

"Oh that..."

There was a flashback with Tailsy as Agent 3 and Luci as Agent 8, similar to Octo Expansion extra boss scene.

"Remember that you wanted to splat me for good because...you-know-what? Why would you say that...?"

Luci started to tear up, wanting to cry.

"Oh, no. It's not what you think it is..."

Tailsy hugs Luci with her crying a little.

"Just why...?" asked Luci.

"Luci...I didn't mean it so literally...I said that to encourage you...I know you could do it, but you needed a little more encouragement...," Tailsy said as she wipes Luci's tears off. "Besides, if that was true, then why didn't I do that when I first met you?"
