Joshua's POV
A few weeks had went past and nothing has gotten better. The government did a broadcast telling people to find the nearest military base or stay put till the find them but that was weeks ago and the only broadcast we heard since then.
The power went out 2 weeks ago as well but gladly we still have running water due to my Grandpa having well water that connects to the house on the farm. Every week we go looking for supplies in the houses near the farm, most people either abandon their home or sadly got bitten by one of those things. We haven't seen any survivors yet and hoping we find some people soon.
"Hey Joshua want to go hunting today?" Otis asked me with two riffles in his hand.
"Yes I need to get out this house." I chuckle grabbing one of the riffles.
"Be careful gentlemen." Patrica told us kissing Otis on the cheek before we left.
We walked the woods for a few hours not really finding anything but a few rabbits and a couple of those monsters roaming the woods. We killed the roamers as we hunted and captured a few of those rabbits. We finally saw a deer eating some plants we quietly watched behind some trees as Otis got his riffle ready and shot the deer... but that wasn't the only thing he shot.
"NOOOOO!" We heard a man shout.
We got from behind the trees seeing the deer on the ground and a teenage boy bleeding on the ground beside it.
The man held the gun up to Otis head ready pull the trigger at any moment. I sat my riffle down as the other guy was pointing his gun at me putting my hands up.
"It was an accident I didn't see him!" Otis said pleading with the man.
"My grandpa he use to be a Veterinarian... he's a medic." I told the two men.
"Where's your grandpa?" One of them asked.
"At our farm we can take you to him but you need hurry if you want to save his life." I said with my hands still up.
They looked at each other and nodded, one of them carrying the unconscious boy and the other one grabbing our guns telling us go. We ran back to farm as fast we could only running into a few roamers.
"MAGGIE?!! PATRICA?! WE NEED HELP NOW!!" I yelled as loud as I could seeing everybody scrabble out the house looking shocked.
"What's wrong with the boy?" My grandpa asked as the man carrying him came up on the porch.
"Otis accidentally shot him while we were hunting." I explained as rushed into the house laying the boy on the bed.
"And what's your name? Are you his father?" He asked the man who carried him in.
"Sheriff Rick Grimes... he is my son.... Carl Grimes." He said with his voice shaken.
"Well Rick Grimes we are going to save your son but I'm going to have to ask you to sit out there while I'm taking the bullet out." My Grandpa said putting on some gloves.
"Okay sure but my wife I have to go tell her what's going on." He said a little fast.
"Rick you can't leave just yet... your son is losing a lot of blood we need you to stay here just incase I'll send my daughter Maggie to find her, where is she located?" Grandpa Hershel asked him.
"The highway near the woods." Rick told him sighing.
"Okay I'll inform my daughter you just got rest for a minute." My grandpa told him with a slight smile.
Rick walked out the room grabbing a chair and sitting by the guest bedroom door. While the other guy was standing by the front door. Patrica walked passed with some medical stuff my Grandpa kept just in case emergencies like this happened.
"May I ask what's your name?" I ask the man standing by the front door.
"Officer Shane Walsh." He said looking up at me handing me back our riffles.
Lori's POV
"Did you hear that? It sounded like a gun shot." I asked the group as we stopped walking to see where it came from.
"Everything must be alright I didn't hear nobody scream out for us." Daryl said walking ahead of us.
Everyone shrugged it off as we continued to search for Sophia. It was starting to get hot as the sun beamed down on my skin. Glad we only have a few more hours till the sun goes down for the evening.
Andrea and Daryl walked ahead of the group looking around for any clues or signs of Sophia. I searched with Glenn and Carol but still no signs of Sophia. We heard Andrea screaming ahead of us, we ran to her as fast as we could as one of the dead were trying to get on top of her. Out of no where a girl riding a horse with a baseball bat kills it then turning around.
"Lori..Lori Grimes?" She asked one of us.
"I'm Lori." I said stepping forward as everyone gathered around me.
"Rick sent me you have to come now! There's been accident your son has been shot." She explained.
"What..." I said as my heart dropped hearing those words.
"Don't worry he's still alive but I need you to come with me now! Rick needs you now just come on!" She said motioning me to get on the horse.
I gave my book-bag to Daryl jumping onto the horse fast as possible. Praying that my son is alright and safe.
"Wait a minute you just can't go with her we don't even know her!" Daryl said pointing at her.
"Rick told me you guys were camping out on the highway? If you take this path for 2 miles then make a left you'll see Farewell street follow that road until see the mailbox that says Greene!" She informed them before riding off.
