Chapter 19: I Don't Need You

~A month after the kiss between Carl and Enid~

Kayla's POV

"Glenn?" I called from the top of the stairs of our home.

"Yeah?" He called back to me.

"There's no more toothpaste can we go on run for some later?" I asked now walking down the flight of stairs.

"Sure why not." Glenn chuckled fixing some breakfast for all of us.

"Uh where's Maggie?" I asked noticing that she wasn't in the kitchen as usual.

"Right behind you darlin." My Aunt Maggie said giving me a small hug from the behind. She then walked over to Glenn giving him a kiss on the lips then looked back at me.

"We have some exciting news!" Maggie chirped popping some peanuts into her mouth.

"What is it?" I asked leaning on the counter looking at the wonderful couple.

"We're having a baby!" Maggie said jumping up and down pulling me into a hug.

"Oh my gosh I'm so happy for you guys! Congratulations!" I said pulling them into a group hug.

"Thank you! You are the first to know so don't tell anybody yet." Maggie said giving me the death stare.

"I won't.... I'll be back later I'm going to take a walk" I chuckled putting both of my hands in the air.

"We'll go on the run around noon." Glenn called out before I walked out the house.

"Gotcha noon!" I said exiting the home then walking down the streets of Alexandria. I've been pretty lonely around here ever since I seen Carl and Enid kissing in the woods that day. Haven't talked to neither of them and avoided them each time I've seen them walking around the community. I don't know if they are a couple or not but it's hurt to know that Carl just throw away our relationship just like that. I was quickly snapped out of thoughts to a voice I know so well.

"Kayla please..." Carl softly said walking behind me.

"What do you want?" I harshly asked turning around facing him.

"I just want to talk that's all..." He sighed looking down at his boots.

"Well we are talking now." I said rolling my eyes and crossing my arms over my chest.

"That day when I went into the woods it wasn't like that, I was planning on leaving Alexandria and go on my own. I happened to run into Enid and she wanted to come with me, I told her no and to come back here but she wouldn't listen then she just kissed I didn't even kiss her back. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings or anything! I knew if I told you I was going to leave you would've tried to stop me or wanted to come. And I couldn't let you do neither! I'm sorry for lying to you and hurting you...." He said looking up at me with those watery blue eyes.

I didn't say anything I just walked off to where I was going leaving the blue eyed boy behind. I was about to reach the gate Eugene, Sasha, and Rosita were until a pair of hands turned me around.

"Why can't you just believe me?!" Carl shouted drawing attention over to us.

"Get off of me!!" I shouted back pushing him away watching him stumble back.

"Just why?! Tell me why?!" He said fixing his hat and moving inches to me.

"Do you really want to know why?" I asked anger raising inside me.

"Yes I-." Carl managed to get out before I rudely interrupted him.

"BECAUSE ALL YOU DO IS HURT PEOPLE! IM DONE WITH YOU, AND I DONT NEED YOU ANYMORE! I DONT NEED YOU TO LOOK AFTER ME OR PROTECT ME!! YOU'LL BE BETTER OFF AS A FUCKING WALKER.!" I shouted catching some oh's and people jaws dropping that were near us. I walked away not letting him say anything else or to see his face expression.

"Open the gate." I ordered Eugene walking up to him. He did actually that then closing the gate behind me.

"I don't need you anymore...." I yelled out to him before walking off into the distance not looking back.
