Chapter 18: Secrets

~ 2 Week After her run with Rosita, Abraham, & Coral~ lol

Kayla's POV

Today I was on watch with Sasha to keep an eye out her she hasn't been her self since the passing of her brother Tyrese. I looked through the scope of my riffle checking the woods and the road.

"See anything?" Sasha asked grabbing her riffle.

"Nothing." I sighed placing my riffle beside me.

"You don't have to be up here with me you know." Sasha said looking straight forward with her riffle in her hand.

"I know... I can tell you clearly need some alone time so I'll leave you to it." I said placing a hand on her shoulder then climbing down the watch tower.

"Hey Kayla! Sasha up there?" My Aunt Maggie asked walking up towards me.

"Yeah she's up there." I smiled walking past her as she went up the watch tower.

I walked down the street going to the Grime's residence seeing Carl and Judith sitting on the porch. I smiled at myself seeing the sight of them two bonding.

"Well if it isn't the Grime's children." I chuckled walking onto the porch.

"Hey Kayla." Carl chuckled back and Judith cooed.

"Where's Rick?" I asked sitting in the other empty chair on the porch.

"He went on a run with Daryl they should be back later on." He said rocking Judith back and forth.

"Oh okay..." I said making funny faces at Judith making her giggle.

"Ever thought about having children of your own one day?" I asked looking up at Carl then back down at Judith.

"Yeah I have actually." He blushed watching Judith and I play together.

"Mind watching her for me for a few? I have to go talk to Carol." Carl asked standing up from his chair.

"Sure! I love watching Judith." I chuckled grabbing the small toddler in my arms and sitting her on my lap.

"Whenever she gets fussy just take her in the house." Carl informed jumping off the porch.

Carl's POV

I hated lying to Kayla and most importantly hurting her. Things around Alexandria have been getting pretty tense, we lost a lot of people due to another group called The Wolverines jumping over the walls killing half of our group while the others were luring the walker away far from home. Ever since then people have been on the edge wondering if that group would come back. That night was the night my life would change forever... I lost my eye. Yup, Ron was jealous my dad killed his dad so he tried to kill my dad but Michonne killed him and the bullet hit my eye.

( A/N So this chapter is kind of based on the episode were Carl lost his eye and Deanna died. Along with Jessie, Ron, and etc. It is NOT fully based on episodes! I didn't go into specific details about it so we are just going to act like it already happened!)

I climbed over the wall making sure no one was watching me and ran into the woods. I ran until I couldn't see the community walls anymore I stopped running looking around my surrounds.

"Carl?" Enid called out stepping out from behind the tree.

"Enid? What are you doing out here?" I asked raising my eyebrow well the one that visible.

"I like to come out here I hate being at Alexandria it's boring... what's up with the bag?" She asked pointing to the duffle bag that was in my hand.

"I'm leaving." I said bluntly walking past her not saying anything else.

"Well I'm coming with you." Enid said catching up to me.

"No Enid go home." I said walking to who knows where.

"No! That place is a living hell. So therefore I'm coming with you and you can't stop me." Enid said irritated walking beside me.

"Enid really no." I said stopping in my tracks looking over at her.

"What are you so afraid of?" She asked getting inches in-front of my face. And that's when the moment I would forever regret happened. Her lips smashed onto mine, I just froze I didn't pull back or even kiss back I just stood there froze.

"What the fuck Carl!" Kayla shouted from behind us with her jaw dropped.
