Ch. 12: A Break and Karaage

Third PoV

At the Yukihira's Diner outside, stood a girl looking at the sign. The girl named Mayumi Kurase.

"Every single day, when we pass by this place, you stop and stare." Her friend, Aki Koganei said.

"N-Not really, I-"

"Don't lie! You were thinking about Yukihira again."

Kurase blushed red.

"That's why I told you to confess in middle school! When we knew he'd go to a different high school, you know!? You're really a coward.." Koganei said.

Kurase had tears in her eyes and was being gloomy.

"Aaaaah, geez! Sorry!! I'm sorry!! Mayu!!" Koganei apologized.

"Well, it's not too late yet, is it? Why not win him over by calling or texting him?" Koganei suggested.

"No way.. I'm a very plain girl. Something like that would never work." Kurase said quietly.

The Yukihira Diner opened, revealing Soma Yukihira.

"Oh? Isn't it Kurase? It's been a while." Yukihira said.

"Yu... Yukihira!!!!" They were surprised.

"Hey, it's really been a while! You came back!!"

"Are you opening Yukihira again!? Hmm... But the boss isn't here."

"Ah, no, I just came to air out the place." Yukihira said.

"AAAAH!! Yukihira is open!?"

"Whaaaaat!?"

"This is bad.. people are gathering.." Yukihira said as he sweat dropped.

"YUKIHIRAAAAAAA! PLEASE! MAKE SOMETHING!"

"We just missed that flavor so much!"

"Heheh.. Alright! Wait a sec! I'll get some ingredients right away! Restaurant Yukihira will reopen for a short while!" Yukihira said getting things ready.

Everyone shouted and cheered. Yukihira serves everyone and everyone seemed happy. Then soon after most people left, Yukihira notices the street being more empty than usual. He looks at the gentlemen of the shopping district and asked them what happened. Soon they explained that there was a new karaage inside those 'In-station stores'. A lot of people goes there so that's why there hasn't been many people. Yukihira thinks about it and said that he will help out. As Yukihira thinks about what to use, Koganei pushed Kurase and told Yukihira that Kurase will help out as a taste tester. Yukihira later thought about the ingredients, noticing that karaage uses meat.

-At a manor-

"Milday, there's a call for you."

"A call?... Just when I'm relaxing. Who is it, geez..?"

"Oh, Nikumi? Yukihira here."

"!!? Wh-why do you know my number?" Ikumi asked.

"Ah, sorry, sorry, I asked Konishi-san."

"S-so..? Why do you.. need me..?"

After an explanation..

"- That's what happened, so I need you to teach me a few things about chicken meat. Are you busy this holiday??"

"It.. It can't be helped! I'm really, really busy but... I'll come! Good grief, it can't be helped, really!"

"Ah.. If you're busy I'll ask someone else."
