"So you talked to a woman today?" My therapist asked
"Yeah, I found her highly attractive i-it was hard at first and I talked myself out of it a dozen times but I finally did it." I said with a slight sigh wiping the sweat on my palms on my pants.
"How did you feel?"
"I felt uh normal for once?"
"What made you talk to this one and not all the other women you found attractive?" He asked
"She isn't scared of me." I replied trying to control the fact that I wanted to smile.
"You are 29 years old Savin and you've never been in a relationship, I say you're taking the right steps and you cannot continue to be afraid of pain. What you went through while you were younger and even recently doesn't define you, and it's okay to get hurt, okay?" He explained, I nodded looking at my watch.
"Look doc it's 6 I gotta go home, shower, and make sure I'm on time picking her." I said standing up
"I'm proud of you." He said, I nodded. "Baby steps, and watch your anger and your outbursts. If you feel triggered step back, okay?"
"Okay Doc." I replied as he walked me out of his office.
"You got this Savin." He reassured me, I was scared but I think I'm ready.
"Thanks Doc." I said grabbing my motorcycle helmet from off the front desk. I put it on over my head before I left out the building. I walked over to where my motorcycle was parked and climbed on it starting it.
