"G-Gods?! That ridiculous. I don't know about you, but I was raised by my parents. I am theirs in every way. I even look like my mother. This isn't something to joke about, Greyson."
"How could I joke about this? Your birth mark confirms everything I've told you. You may look like your mother, but I am sure your father is not related to you. Ask your mother about his real identity. Both of my parents died shortly after I was born so I have no way of knowing if I look like them."
"How can I just ask my mother something like that? She still gets upset if I bring him up, especially if I accuse him of not being my real dad." I sighed and pressed my fingers against my temples and rubbed. What Greyson was saying was unbelievable, yet made sense to me in some way. It explained a lot of things, like why mother was always so mysterious about father.
"Just write her a letter. She told you to check in periodically, did she not? This way you can avoid her wrath and find out the truth." He had a point. If what Greyson said really was true, I deserved to hear what my mother had to say about it. I just couldn't bring up being the daughter of a goddess because I always keep my promises, and I would not tell a soul unless I absolutely had to.
"You said both of your parents died when you were young. How did you find out you were the son of the Horned God?"
He smiled. "Well I have the luck and fortune of running into the Great Estelle. She told me things I didn't know about myself, and also told me I would find my mate."
"Estelle!? She is a legend! How did you meet her? I thought she refused to meet with anyone anymore."
"Only if it benefits her. And me being the king of the werewolves, I'm kind of a big deal" he smirked.
I swatted him. "Big ego, maybe! I want to meet her. I need to hear the truth from her. Maybe you're leaving out important details, how am I to know?!"
He scratched his stubble and thought about it. "Fine, I will take you to her. She may be able to tell you more than I can, and you may even learn something new. We will rest today and head out tomorrow, bright and early."
I groaned. "Bright and early? Can we leave at like, noon?"
"Don't be so lazy. Lucky for us her house is on the way to Lycandor so it isn't too too far out of the way." He pulled me down in his arms in the bed and nuzzled me. "Get some rest, Fae. We still have a long way to go."
I closed my eyes and thought about Eldar. I hoped he was still alive and safe. Maybe we would run into him on the way to Lycandor. I sighed and drifted into a fitful sleep.
I awoke to a warm arm wrapped snugly around my waist. Smiling, I snuggled closer to his warm, sturdy body. Greyson's hot breath fanned the back of my neck and I shivered. His deep voice startled me as he croaked, "Good morning, my princess. Sleep well?"
"No, not really. Between your snoring and worrying about Eldar there was no time for me to relax." He pressed his nose against my neck and inhaled deeply.
"I know all sorts of ways to get you to relax." The arm around my waist slid down to my abdomen and his fingers grazed dangerously close to my sex. I felt his hardness press into my back and I groaned.
"Is sex all you think about?!"
He kissed down my neck and sighed. "The main reason is the mate bond. I can feel it more strongly than you because I'm a wolf. Once we mate you will feel the bond much more strongly. Also I am an Alpha. All my attributes and senses are enhanced more than the average wolf. Plus, I'm a guy. I'm always horny, especially for you. To me, you are more beautiful than any creature out there. I want to make love to you, please you, worship you. Fae, you make me feel like nothing in my life matters more than you. You are a breath of fresh air."
