Gnaea Cornelia Tita Lentula Batiatus

The only child of Batiatus and Lucretia, the apple of her grandfather Titus' eye.

As the only heir to the ludus -- unless Lucretia manages to bear a son -- Gnaea has been trained her entire life to inherent the ludus from her father. She goes to the games and market with her father, assisting him in purchasing slaves, learning how to handle the accounts of the villa, and oversees the gladiators' training alongside her father. She used to be a very happy, optimistic young woman until her paramour, Gaius Claudius Glaber, broke her heart in the interest of bettering his own standing with a wealthy daughter of another family.

After that, she became very bitter and determined to prove herself just as good, if not better, then that particular woman. Better than her former lover as well. Along with her diminished love of Glaber, Gnaea has grown to hate her father and her mother either, believing they murdered her beloved grandfather. The one person she loves and trust unconditionally is Oenomaus, who trains her with small edged weapons at her command (as he's still technically her slave, he can't refuse her). When Spartacus arrives, Gnaea sees an opportunity to manipulate him to her own purposes against her father as well her own enemies. It's lucky that they have a common enemy in Glaber. When the slaves finally rebel, Oenomaus protects Gnaea from the ones who would seek to do her harm since she is their domina. Before anyone else can do so, she kills her father for the murder of her beloved grandfather, and runs away with Oenomaus. The pair go into hiding together, Oenomaus fighting in the pits and Gnaea hiding in the sewers, until they eventually join up with the other rebels.

After Oenomaus dies, Gnaea's heart is broken and she decides to leave the rebel army. As most of the rebels never fail to remind her, she doesn't have a true place amongst them. Spartacus, who has become like a brother to her over the years, wishes her safe travels and a happy life while she assures him that he and the army will always have a home with her, wherever she settles. Gnaea picks up some new companions in her travels. Traveling away from the major cities so as not to be discovered and arrested for her treason agains the Empire, Gnaea buys and frees slaves as often as she can. Most leave, seeking to return to the home they were stolen from, but some choose to remain with her.

Eventually, Gnaea settles beyond the mountains, far from Rome's control, and marries one of the slaves she'd freed. She is pregnant when she sends her husband back to Rome to find Spartacus and tell him of their home, that it would be safe for him and the rebels, should they choose to join her. She welcomes the few survivors of the rebel army when her husband leads them back to her, mourning the news of her lost friends.
