A/N: So I feel a little bit better. A little. This chapter is kinda short and it is really meant to empathize what I was feeling like recently.

3rd Person POV

"Thought I might find you out here." A small sigh escaped Y/N's lips as he heard the soft voice of his friend Chloe. He had hoped that nobody was coming outside, but with his luck he should've known that something as simple as that wouldn't happen. Slowly turning his head, Y/N was met with the site of a frowning Chloe. "Hey Chloe. I... I just needed some fresh air." Chloe then sat down beside him, looking Y/N directly into his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?" For a brief moment Y/N turned his attention to the full moon. Before Chloe came to him, he had found himself confessing to it. Maybe she had heard his confession when she was walking up to him. "Tell you what?"

"About Star. Why didn't you tell me that you two... broke up?" Y/N's only response was a silence. He knew that Chloe was rash so if he had told her the real reason, Star would have most likely been in the hospital by now. "Y/N, we're friends. Close friends in fact. Why didn't you tell me?" Yet again, Chloe asked the question. He had a feeling that if he didn't say anything, she would become a broken record. "Because... I didn't think it was that important."

"Really? One of my friends going through a hard time isn't important?"
"...You don't understand Chloe."
"Then tell me so I can! If you don't then how am I supposed to help?"
"If I told you... you wouldn't be at prom at the moment."
"What... What are you..."
"That's all I'm gonna say Chloe. Look... go have fun, alright? I... I'll just be out here."

Despite what he suggested, Chloe stayed in the same spot. "Y/N... what did she do?"

"...How are you so sure it wasn't my fault?" Y/N's voice cracked a bit. Looking closely, Chloe noticed a small tear slid down his face. Slowly, she wrapped her arm around him and pulled him into a hug "Y/N, just tell me what happened. I promise that I won't do anything crazy, okay?" After a few silent moments, Y/N nodded. "A... Alright. Star and I broke up because... because I found out that her and Jon were..." Though his voice trailed off, Chloe filled in the rest. "She cheated on you." It was more of a statement rather than a question.

"Yeah. I... I would blame her... but maybe... maybe it was my fault for not being what she wanted..." Narrowing her eyes, Chloe pulled Y/N tighter. "Don't think like that. You're fine just the way you are. I know that one day, you'll find that perfect girl."

"...And if I don't?"
"..."
"What if I don't find that perfect girl? What if I don't have a loving family Chloe? What if I die old and alone? Hell, what if I die young and never truly get what love really is?"
"Y/N-"
"What if I disappoint my parents by not having a family? I'm an only child Chloe. So are my parents. If I die, and my parents decide not to have another child, then my family tree...just ends with me. I... I want to have the type of love that lasts Chloe. Not the type that... that..." Y/N's body shook within Chloe's arms. She never knew that Y/N felt like this. "Hey hey, calm down. Listen... it's not like you need to find love now. It... It can take time. Just... Just relax and have fun. That's what tonight is for."

"How can I have fun... when she's here? How can I have fun when all I've been having are depressed thoughts?" For that, Chloe didn't have an answer. As the music in the gym grew louder, the moment between the two felt...odd. "Y/N, forget Star. She... She wasn't good for you anyways."

"Or maybe I wasn't good enough for her... or any girl." A frown soon formed on Chloe's face. She absolutely hated this side of Y/N. She missed his happier demeanor. "Y/N this was just your first relationship. I know that things are at an all time low right now,  but that doesn't mean you won't find anyone. Do you know how many people are probably in your spot?" Chloe waited for Y/N to answer, bit the only thing she received was silence. "Please... don't let one girl blind you. We are only in high school. You might meet someone in college or in whatever career you decide to take. It isn't the end of the world." Y/N shuffled slightly in her arms "Now... are you really gonna let your day be ruined by one person or are you gonna prove that you don't need her? Prove that she fucked up, not you."

Slowly, Y/N moved out of Chloe's grip. He wiped away his tears and sighed "And how do I do that?"

"Simple. Be you." Standing up from her spot, Chloe put her had out "Ready?" Y/N looked up at her before taking her hand. Chloe then pulled him up, smiling softly "Now, let's enjoy tonight... like it belongs to us."

A/N: As I said, this was short. It was also to help me get back into the swing of things.
