As I try to take in the scene in front of me, I see people chattering and cops investigating. Suddenly a woman starts shouting.

"No! No!"

It was David's mother. I felt tears in my eyes but wiped it off before it left my eye. She tries to get rid of the rope around his neck but struggles to reach him. A cop runs towards her and says "Mam, I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm going to have to ask you to please stop touching your son. He is evidence."

"EVIDENCE? Evidence for what? My son committing suicide because of all the hatred, the bullying?"

She suddenly smacks the officer with her hand across his face. "Mam, I know your hurting, but we think that your son didn't commit suicide." "What do you mean?" she says with tears running down her face. " What do you mean he Didn't commit suicide?" "We think that this was a homicide. By the looks if his neck, it looks like he was stabbed at the back of the neck at the base of the skull. The intended goal of striking this area with a knife is to sever the spinal cord/brain stem. Once the spinal cord is severed, all body function ceases."

"What are you saying? Are you saying that..."
"Yes Mam, David Grayson was murdered."

Mrs. Grayson busted out into tears. I just couldn't watch anymore. Murder? Why? How? Who? So many unanswered questions. I rushed down to Ava's house. I knocked so hard, when the door was opened I almost hit Ava in her face.

"What's the meaning of you wanting to break my door down sweetie?" So I told her everything, about when he came to my house this morning, the suicide, the murder. Everything.

"Oh my word! I mean, he was friendly and all, but I never really got the chance to get to know him so well. Murder? Who would do something like that!"
"I don't know, but everyone will be talking about it, so we better prepare for what's coming. I think we should just go home and stay safe."

" I'm already in my house. I was perfectly safe until you almost bashed your fist through my front door. Thanks for telling me. Looks like a killer is on the loose." "Possible murder. Maybe he did it before hanging himself." "Impossible. He should've been dead seconds after. But let's talk on Monday again." I sigh out loud.

"Yeah, okay. Sorry for almost breaking down your door. Goodbye."

The weekend passes by very fast. It's Monday again and I'm relieved that the rumors of me had finally stopped. I can see that everyone looks scared. As the bell rings, we all go to Mrs.Mouton's class.

"As most of you know, a lovely student that was here last year, has passed away. David." A lot of people looked shocked and gasped. We took a few minutes for quietness and pray afterwards. Right after we prayed, a familiar girl walks in. Brooke.

"Hi mam, my name is Brooke Simons." She gets introduced and everyone seems to like her. She ends up sitting in the chair next to me.

"I see your wound is finally healing", she says with a smirk on her face. "So you go to school here now? Cool, cool." She looks at me, worried. "Oh yeah, my wound. It's healing. At least."

The day passes by and me and Brooke had decided to go to Abstant to eat lunch together. We talked for a very long time while we were walking. When we stopped to look where we were, we were four miles away from the restaurant and one away from Mount Avery.

"Well, what should we do? Do you wanna see a stunning view of Hazardville or do you wanna eat lunch?" "I think I wanna go to the mountain."

We arrive and end up sitting on my school blazer on the ground. I tell her all about Hazardville and the history behind it. She seems interested. Good. When we finally stopped talking to each other, we realized that it was dawn.
