My head starts spinning as I strip on the table. Half the people are as drunk as I am and the other half is taking videos and screaming random shit. With how I'm feeling at the moment, I couldn't care at all. This is probably the best feeling that I've ever had. No judgmental, no cruel words and no whispering, because everyone else was feeling the way that I felt.
As soon as I dropped my pants, I took off my hoodie and started to untie my shirt. Seconds after, my clothes were in the pool, soaked, and I was dancing only in my underwear. I jumped off the table and went to Amelia who was drunk dancing with her friends. The moment she saw me, she laughed her ass off and continued dancing.
"Where are you're clothes?" she screams through the loud music. "In the pool!" She giggles and stops dancing, but struggles to find her balance. She takes my hand and drags me to the pool. She undresses and pushes me into the pool. The cold water wets my whole body and seconds after Amelia jumps in. She laughs and splashes me with water. "So, where are you from?" She bends her head backwards and lifts her body so that she ends up floating. She stares at the stars in moment. "Brockham." I get closer to her and place my mouth inches away from her ear. "And where is that?" She smiles and continues to stare at the sky. "It's a place far, far away from here. I'm glad I'm not there anymore."
I stare at her beautiful blue eyes. "Let's get out of here." She looks at me, still floating. "I'd like that very much." We get out of the pool and she leads me to her car. We put our seatbelts on and she asks the question. "So, where to?" I smile and look at her. "Everywhere." She lets the handbreak down and we start reversing. She pulls away and the tires screech. We drive by all the houses in the neighborhood and we drive on the highway with our windows and the sunroof open. Wind enters the car and refreshes the air inside. All the city lights are glowing like a thousand tiny stars that doesn't move. No one is visible when we drive into the city.
"I'm seriously craving some ice cream, like no cap." I look at Amelia and nod in agreement. My vision is still blurry but it starts disappearing when we empty two full water bottles. I look on Maps and see that there is only one open. We arrive at a small ice cream shop with not one soul to be seen except for the person who works there. She has a cute ice cream hat on and a uniform with ice creams on it.
"Hi, welcome to Icey Pop Ice Creams. What can I get you?" We study the menu and end up with the same thing. "2 Bubblegum Fudge Sparks, please." We receive the ice creams and sit outside at a table. The view from shop is incredible. The Mount Springs Bridge is the top building showing off it's view. "So what brings you to Mount Springs?" I look at her, still eating my ice cream. "It's complicated." She stares at me and smirks. "What about you?" She licks her ice cream. "It's 'complicated'." I laugh and she joins in. With her ic cream in her one hand, Amelia takes my hand and pulls me up. "Come on!" She tuns to her car while pulling me with her.
We get in the car and she plays the most chilled music that I've ever heard. While we we were driving past the buildings and empty streets, it felt like I was in a movie with the windows open and wind entering. I wasn't drunk anymore, but I was filled with calmness and relaxation. This girl knows exactly how to make me feel things I've never felt before. She starts slowing down when we approach a little restaurant at a river. We get out of the car and she takes my hand. "Where are we?" She looks at me. "You'll see." She leads me inside and my imagination of being at a magical place has turned into reality. There are tables that are the made of tree stomps and chairs out of branches. The roof is covered in the most amazing forest paintings with birds. Nature music is playing and it feels almost real.
"This is beautiful, Amelia. How did you find this place?" We see a table and get seated. "I like to travel the city and find new places. I found out about this place 6 months ago. I see this place as my safe space. I've never showed anyone this before." My cheeks start to warm up and I smirk. "So, I guess I'm special?" She chuckles. "I guess you are." I stare at her and she pulls a weird face. "What?" I shake my head. "Nothing, it's just... You, Amelia, are a mysterious girl, you know that?" She smiles and nods. "I know."
A waiter approaches us and we enjoy a magical and memorable night. After our meal, she drives me back to home. She parks the car in font of my house and switches it off. "Tonight was really fun, Noah. Thank you." I look at her. "No, thank you. I've never felt this happy before." She places her hair behind her ear and looks down. "Amelia, I really like you." She looks up. "I like you too, Noah. Just don't forget me." I grin. "What do you..." and before I can finish asking my question, she leans in and kisses me in my lips. Surprised, I lead the kiss and she says goodnight. She drives off and my heart stays warm inside.
It's 3AM and I hope that my mother isn't waiting for me when I walk in. I quietly open the back door and the lights are off. I slowly walk to my room and close my door. I get in bed and I stare at the ceiling. Landy pushes the door open and jumps onto my bed. "Landy,do you believe in true love?" She wines and I smile. "Mee too, girl." I close my eyes and moments after, I'm sleeping like I'm in hibernation.
Birds tweeting and singing allows me to wake up calmly. It's Saturday morning and I can smell the freshly made pancakes all the way from downstairs. Landy isn't on my bed anymore and I walk downstairs. My mom is making pancakes and my sister is sitting on the dining table with her laptop. My sister... "Holy shit! You didn't tell me you were gonna visit." She laughs and gives me a hug. She went to college this year and has been visiting often. My mom calls us to grab some pancakes. I grab myself a plate and sit down on the chair. My mom brings the pancakes and I grab 2. She turns on the tv to the news channel.
"All suspects have been in questioning all morning and no one seems to know her location. It seems that she is reported as missing."
I turn around and watch the screen. A photo of the girl who is missing is shown and my mouth drops open. "Oh my God. It's Amelia."
