As the now grown up Link wondered around the temple, he realized that he needed to figure out what was now happening outside. If time had just skipped, then surely everyone wouldn't be in their exact spots, right?

"Hey, listen!" Navi exclaimed, pausing the upcoming hero before he left the temple.

"What is it Navi?" He asked with a much lower toned voice.

"Well, you see Link, I need to go back to the forest and check on all the Kokiri, but you can keep going if you like!" The way Navi spoke seemed very uneasy to Link. She didn't seem very enthusiastic to see the forest folk, and she especially didn't just leave Link out like that. Usually, he would ask her to leave back to the forest so he could be alone, but he doesn't remember doing that anymore.

"O..Kay.." He muttered, Navi rushing out through the window and back to the forest; well Link assumpted she was anyway.

-

"So, you want Epona eh?" A man with a crooked mustache and quite a spiteful look in Lon Lon Ranch said, raising his eyebrow. Link nodded his head, watching as the most skilled horse was waiting to be rode once more. The man smirked, but it was barely visible under his bushy and likely dirty mustache.

"Yes please, she has taken a liking to me ever since I was a child," Link said to the man - Ingo.

"Really? I don't remember your face when you were little and there is no way you're touching Malon. Anyway, Mr Link, you want her?" Ingo called for his horse, hopping onto it and getting Link to call Epona. "Well you better beat me in a race then!" A timer started once Link was ready on his horse, and the next thing he knew he was having to race this man who took a liking towards a familiar darkness. However, Link didn't intake his enjoyment for speaking about darkness, even if he mentioned certain places and almost a certain name.

"Argh! How could I ever lose? I never do!" Ingo shouted, slapping his horse's back angrily. It neighed, but it didn't move or kick him off surprisingly. "I hate you kid! That's it! You're never leaving this horse pen if you keep her!" Ingo hopped off his horse and ran to the gate, shutting them so Link couldn't escape. The blonde boy frowned, but wasn't thick either. He knew Epona could jump very high, and that with enough speed she would be able to jump over the gate and get out of there. So, that's what he did. Getting into preparations, speeding Epona up so she jumped right over without problems and they were out of Lon Lon Ranch. In the distance they both heard Ingo yelling and cursing, but Link didn't go back. Now he needed to find Navi and see what he was doing next.

-

"Link, there you are," Navi said, flying over to him. He smiled and saw that all of the forest folk turned to look at him instantly, even some of the girls giving him girly waves to show they were interested in his new look.

"Wait, why isn't everyone else grown up?" Link asked, slowly walking further inwards with gazes surrounding his every movement.

"It's because you're not Kokirian, Link," Navi said to him stopping his uneasy walk. "You're Hylian." Nobody else seemed to know what that was, but Link only seemed frightened about it.

"I don't even know how to read Hylian!" He whined, staring up at the Lost Woods.

"It doesn't matter if you don't, Link. You're Hylian because you're the only one here that aged up, you have very pointy ears and can speak to the Gods." Navi was calming down Link pretty easily, but he still didn't want to believe it.

"Whatever," he mumbled, starting to climb up to the Lost Woods. "Apparently Saria is in here somewhere, so I'm gonna go see her." Navi quickly followed behind, ensuring he didn't get lost like the title of the woods stated.

(( massive time skip to after the forest temple because im the laziest author alive ))

"So Link, you now need to go to Goron City and do the Fire Temple," Navi told him as soon as he came out of the Forest Temple. This angered him however, facing Navi with his eyebrows furrowed and his hands curled up into fists.

"Navi, all you care about is me getting to these temples constantly. What am I even doing them for? I'm not getting any rewards for it!" He threw his arms up in the air and was yelling at Navi harshly, making her fly back a little bit.

"Link please listen to me!" She shouted over his whining voice, making him pause. "I know that you're angry and annoyed that you have to keep doing these temples, but the last one is the Water Temple. After the Fire Temple." Link all of a sudden just froze, his eyebrows unfurrowing as Navi had calmed him down.

"I thought there were more," he said.

"There used to be, but that evil is gone now. He has already been sealed away by the Hero of Skies." Link stared downwards, wondering who the evil villain could be this time. He wouldn't be becoming a hero for fighting no evil, would he?

"Then why am I doing these quests?" He asked, almost sounding way too curious.

"That is for me to know and you to find out.." Navi replied, turning around and her wings slowing down. "Or, perhaps to remember.."

-

"Navi, I don't know how I'm supposed to get the goron to stop rolling around!" The Hylian boy whined, watching furiously as a certain goron rolled around and brushing himself off with his hands.

"Well, maybe you could cause an explosion..?" She trailed off when Link looked in his inventory and the bombs next to him. He smiled, grabbing one that was next to him and waiting for the right time to blow up the goron.

After a few attempts, Link managed to get him to stop and hopefully speak and negotiate with him. They did, and he got the fire tunic and headed out for his next big quest.
