Day Eleven: Bigender Pride

I can make a story outside of this book or chapter outside of the challenge but in this book on Clover's entire backstory of requested.

Aia was sitting in the tree with Luka, who Aia sees as an older brother figure. See, Aia uses both pronouns. He and She. Aia is both a boy and a girl and doesn't mind mostly being seen as a girl, but Aia also wanted some male role models in Aia's life. Aia had also figured out that it's easier to ease confusion to use either they/them pronouns, even though they prefer gender specific pronouns like she/her or he/him, or just use the name Aia instead of a pronoun. But Luka's different. Luka always uses he/him because Aia always hears and is referred to be she/her by people Aia isn't out to. It's nice to be thought of as a little brother. 

Anyways, Aia and Luka we're sitting up in the tree and eating an assortment of fruits ranging from oranges to pears while Uncle Clover was strumming his ukulele and sitting and the bottom of the tree. Today was Aia's day. Aia just wanted to hang out with Luka and Uncle Clover for a little while before going to the others to hang out. Besides, nobody else is awake and ready for an adventure in the woods at seven in the morning. #EarlyBirdSquad

"Hey Uncle Clover, can you tell the story of the Princess?"

Normally, there a million stories about princesses. But to Uncle Clover, there's only one Princess that is THE Princess. Plus, the Story about that Princess was Aia's favorite. Uncle Clover laughed a little bit and looked up at Luka. He knew the story very well. They had an unspoken rule to tell the story again. However, this time there's no music. Just animated storytelling. And there's a big reason why Luka knows this story well too, but that's a secret you're goin goin to have to ask about in the comments~ The author loves you too <3

"Once upon a time a long long time ago a princess with dark skin and bright eyes was born into this world. By her side her whole life was a humble bard, who would sing her sweet songs and follow her through every adventure."

"That Bard was named Clover, and that Princess named Annalise."

"Exactly as Luka said! Now, Clover and Annalise as children would escape the castle and go on adventures through the woods. Over the rivers, through the bushes, across the valleys, no place was too far for them to explore. And through every journey, the bond of the two grew."

"That's when they found a wolf, hurt and sad and alone."

"Aha! But not just any wolf! This wolf was a fierce yet loyal leader of a wolf pack that was killed by hunters. This wolf lead us to the earliest, most important adventure of their childhood: To father intel- err, information on this hunters and stop their no good hunting!"

"The wolf was named Kaia, kind of like you Aia. And this wolf made sure that these kids were ready to defend themselves. The wolf found two large sticks and some rocks and armed both the princess and the bard. Now, they were ready to take on the evil hunters."

"WIth Kaia's help, they learned that these hunters were illegal poachers! Princess Annalise took Clover's hand and began running back home, informing the King and Queen of everything. They avenged Kaia's pack and have Kaia a wonderful new home!"

"The End."

Luka said, ending the first of the three stories about Princess Annalise that Aia adored. There were stars in Aia's eyes and Aia had a hungry curiosity to hear the rest of the trilogy. That wasn't the story that's hit close to home with Luka though. It's the very last one that was held close to his heart. Uncle Clover waited for fhe order from Aia to continued recoting the second story. Same order too. Uncle Clover Speaks, then Luka, then Uncle Clover again. But only if Aia asks for it. It's Aia's morning after all. 

"Uncle Clover, is that story true?"

True? Uncle Clover let his smile fall. Luka helped Aia get down from the tree, taking this as a hint that Aia wanted to go do something else. Or go color. Aia really likes coloring and doodling stuff that are pink, blue, purple, and white. Aia's Bigender Pride flag. Aia looked at Uncle Clover's green eyes, co fused on why Aia hasn't gotten an answer yet. Uncle Clover sat up, sad look on his face. Luka shared the same reminiscent sort of look. 

"More or less. The ending is different than what you'd expect."

Luka took this as his cue to change the subject.

"Come on, Aia! Let's go veer your friends Mochi, Tulio, And Viri! We can have cupcakes and start throwing a pool party at Kris's house!"

Aia seemed to like the idea and started running, grabbing Luka's wrist, and heading for Mochi's. Luka turned back to give a weak smile at Uncle Clover, who returned it. He picked up his ukulele and strummed a few chords. Oh Annalise... if only you were still alive to see how this neighborhood grew. How the acceptance has spread and how happy all the kids are.... and see how well Tulio has grown...
