Day Sixteen: Coming Out

Phoenix was scared. He was holding tightly onto his boyfriend's hand, who was telling him that everything would be okay. See, he wanted to come out. He wanted to tell his family about how happy he was with his boyfriend and not have to keep worrying constantly about of they'd accept him or not. 

All his friends already know about how much of a flaming homosexual Phoenix is, but none of his birth family. Luka knows, and Luka convinced him to come out to his birth sister since he also had come out to her. His sister Lewoon. Well, it's Le Woon or Le-Woon but Luka always says it as one word. That or just calls her Woony. Woony is younger than Phoenix, burn older than Luka. She's definitely Mom's favorite since she's the only one who turned out to be straight. Haha... ha...

So here he was, sitting in front of Lewoon with Tyrome holding his hand. Lewoon already knew what was happening, considering the look on her face and how she refused to start the conversation. Phoenix felt like crying. Why was it so hard? But Tyrome is right here. Tyrome is next to him. Tyrome will always be here for him. Phoenix squeezed his hand and finally said the words. 

"Woony... I'm gay."

There it was. It finally came out. He finally came out. It was as though a burden was lifted from his shoulders and he could finally breathe. He looked into Woony's Eyes, identical to his own by color but so very different in terms of perosnality. Tyrome hugged Phoenix from the side, adding on more to it.

"And we're dating."

Phoenix's heart was going a thousand miles a minute. It's not that he's ashamed. He's proud to be who he Is and wants Lewoon to be the same. It's that he's so nervous about it. Nervous on how she'd react, because her reaction reflects the rest of the family. They accepted Luka because he was adopted. How would they react when they find out that the son they gave birth to, their golden child, was gay?

Woony sat there for a moment, contemplating. Her eyes were always filled with compassion and kindness. She simply smiled, pushing away some hair from her face. She stood up and walked over to the other side of Phoenix, sitting down next to him. She grabbed his others hand and held it. He had the love of his life on one side and his family on the other. Phoenix could legitimately cry out of joy.

"I'm proud of you, Phe. You got a man who loves you and the guts to finally tell your family how you are. You never have to hide yourself from me. No matter what, I'll always love my big brother."

Tyrome grinned, super happy for his boyfriend. The three of them just sat there. Phoenix was begining to cry and mumbled out breaths that were supposed to say "thank you"over and over and over again. Tyrome told him that everything was okay. Lewoon told him that he should be proud of who he is. And both of them constantly reminded him how much they love him.
