"The root of suffering is attachment"- Buddha

Third person's POV

Swiftly jumping from branch to another, Elise is careful not to make a noise so that the person she is following won't be able to detect her for the plan to go well.

After a few minutes, the man stopped in an old shack. Someone stepped out on the house and conversed with the man she followed. Elise waited if there are any clues before coming in herself and attacking.

While waiting, her mind wandered back to the conversation she and her mate had just a few hours back. She wondered what Ravien is currently doing right now. She find it hard to believe that her mate was willing to accept her as she is. Her thoughts were cut off when she heard her name pass between the man's mouth. Slight annoyance filled her. Her name shouldn't be passing through their filthy mouths!

"I pity her, to be honest." the man who stepped out of the shack said.

"Why?"

"She's dragging a lot of people in her mess she called her life" the man chuckled.

"What do you mean?"

"Haven't you heard?" the man asked, obvious amusement swirling in his eyes. "Apparently, the poor gal found her mate. It happened to be an alpha too." he added feigning sympathy in his eyes.

"But wouldn't that give her advantage?? I mean as you said it was an Alpha. She holds power in her hands and there even was a rumor that all her life she was trained by strongest and fiercest warriors they could find all over the world."

"As if" the man scoffed.

Oh i'll give this man hell, how dare he underestimate me like that just because i'm a girl.

"Just watch. She'll drag her mate down with her. Down to hell where she belongs. Can't you see? She was already attached. Might as well call it love at first sight. Attachment and love only makes you weak. Just stay and watch as she falls and make both of their pack watch in disappointment and pity on-"

The man never got to finish seeing as Elise already attacked. Blinded by rage she continued to give the man hell as what she called. Screams filled the once quiet night, scaring the animals living near.

That was the first night she came back with no clues after getting a lead for so long.

*****

When she reached the pack area, this time she didn't bother to hide, letting some members who were lingering around to see her bloody states. Stares and murmurs filled the area, the news quickly spreading around.

As soon as she went inside the house, she was bombarded by questions. Questions she did not bother to provide an answer. Eventually, she was stopped by Ravien. His eyes holding concern for her whole entire being. His mouth is moving, asking questions the same as the others but she did not hear. She just stared blankly and moved passed him and she locked herself in her room, letting her thoughts suffocate her.
