Chapter Nine- What the future holds

*Pandora's Pov*

When I woke up I had a massive headache and was tangled in sheets, with a snoring John right next to me. I smiled and then I felt my face flush when I was reminded of the events that occurred last night.

Then there was a knock on the door, "Constantine, I got Ava out of Purgatory!"

"John, wake up Sara's at the door." I whispered into his ear while shaking him.

I must've scared him or something because he pulled a knife from under his pillow.

"What's taking you so long-ohh." Sara's says while she opens the door and sees me and immediately walks out.

"Ah, sorry about that love. That was the first time I've had a good sleep in awhile you just startled me." He gives a tired chuckle.

"I scared John Constantine? Do I get a cookie?" I said causing him to laugh.

"I would say I could give you a repeat of last night but you're probably sore as hell." He said getting out of bed, pulling the sheets with him.

When I tried to stand up, it hurt but I was able to pull through.

"You were right about that, Johny."

"Yeah, well I tried to be as gentle as possible doesn't help when you're screaming "More Constantine!" love." He said mimicking me.

"I hate you." I said and proceeded to throw a pillow at him.

"I would hate me too, love."

"You're ridiculous." Both of us were full of contagious laughter and smiles as I threw John his white shirt to put on.

I wish this moment would last forever, but sadly enough I knew the truth that eventually we would have to face Neron at which lives could be lost.

*John's Pov*

While the others were trying to formulate a game plan that was good enough to save humanity I was sitting in the library drinking some whiskey and trying to learn new spells.

I wanted to learn this new state of the art protection spell so that I could keep Pandora safe. If she's going to be all in with me, I would be damned if I got her hurt.

Little while after I was done mastering the spell, Mona walked in she looked in distraught.

"Mona, love what is it?" I called out to her.

"What's it like to have somebody you love and care about that isn't dead." Her voice cracked.

"Love, do you know how many times people I love died? How many times it took to get right and find Pandora?" I didn't want to be harsh but an animal she gave her heart to right away for all of two seconds didn't deserve the love it got.

She hung her head low and started to cry.

"I'm going to tell you something, I've never told anybody Mona. Hopefully it'll put you at ease." I told her taking a deep breath while she nodded her head.

"Every morning, when I first get up, the first 5 minutes I spend lying there imagining everyone I love is dead. That way if or when it happens it lessens the blow." I never even told Pandora that and didn't plan to.

She nodded her head, and then proceeded to walk out but not before saying,

"I'm sorry, you're so emotionally damaged Constantine." That caused me to laugh at myself because,

I mean she's not wrong.

3rd Person

Days Later

The legends had thought about setting a trap for the demon, Neron. They weren't sure how well it was going to work but, it was their best shot.

The darkness was rising, and it was rising fast. The legend's best shot was Pandora and Constantine. With their magic together, and Pandora's newly founded powers they must just have a chance at beating it.

While the team was trying to manifest plan, Gideon had alerted them that there was another magical creature found in the timeline.  With that being said, Sara Lance had sent Zari and Nate onto the mission while she wanted to spend time making up with her girlfriend. Mick and Charlie had decided to go to a convention for Rebecca Silver. Leaving Constantine, Pandora and Ray in the wave rider.

Pandora was stressing so much, it was almost taking a toll on her body. Her nose bleeds had been less severe when she encountered visions. John noticed how much this was bothering Pandora, he know he would be the same way but he knew she didn't deserve this.

Pandora's visions has mostly been of Ace, since she first encountered her powers. It hurts her deep down inside but she never showed it.

John walked up behind a standing Pandora and wrapped his arms around her waist and gave her neck little kisses. Little did she know, what John was actually do was putting the protection spell he worked so hard to learn on her.

"Love, I can't know the events of the future but I'll do my best to make sure that bastard never sees the light of day again." John told Pandora in an attempt to make her feel better.

"I hope so Johny, I really freaking hope so." John could practically smell Pandora's fear, and coming from a person who heads straight onto danger this made John tick.

A/N: I apologize that this is shorter than normal, I'm just trying to give more detail and stretch the book out to more chapters, as I do plan to have a sequel for this book but I also want to give it enough time for a fan base to build. -L.S
