Chapter Twenty-Two

*Pandora's Pov*

"John!" I cried out as I saw him collapse onto the floor, the knife penetrating his chest.

My heart dropped as I ran towards his body on the ground, placing my hands on his face, he was no longer breathing as I whimpered. 

"John, please come back to me. I can't live without you!" I screamed as I repeatedly did chest compressions to bring him back.  

"It was destined to happen Pandora." I heard Neron's voice come from behind me. 

I was filled with nothing but rage towards this "man", it took me so long to find John, a very long time and now because of him he was gone. 

I stood up and turned around to be face-to-face with the demon himself, he was still in Ray's body but at this point this didn't matter to me. Something happened to me there, I've never felt this powerful before and I started chanting any spell I could think of. 

 I slowly raised my hand and spoke "Ya 'anubis, yda uwzuris , Astamae 'iilaa suti." I was satisfied when I finally realized it was working and I was ripping Neron out of Ray's body. 

"Pandora, stop!" I heard the pleas of the legends behind me realizing I was killing Ray along with Neron.  

As I was nearing the end of the extraction I turned around and spoke "He's gone, there was no bringing him back, why is it acceptable for him to kill everyone I love, especially John the only person who's ever cared for me the way he did, you can all screw yourselves." 

"Pandora"

"Pandora, love"

"Snap out of it, you're in a vision."  I heard John's voice in my ears, and as soon as I blinked I was back on the waverider, and John was looking as me from his spot on the bed. 

"Pandora, are you alright?" John's voice was filled with worry, and by the look in his eyes, he was extremely worried. 

"They keep getting worse John, every night, every time I close my eyes you're dying and there's nothing I can do to stop it.." As I started to sob, and John took my head and laid it in the crook of his shoulder. 

"I'll try to help find something to prevent these love, but for right now I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." 

He took my hand and placed it on his chest, and I could feel his heart beating over and over again. 

"I can't live without you John, it's physically impossible." I said as I wrapped my arms around his torso tightly and slowly begin to start controlling my breathing. 

"Pandora, I know it's hard but I need you to tell me what happens in your visions." 

"Apart from you always dying? We're always in a giant room with people watching, Neron shows up, we fight for a little bit he ends up killing you. This time was different though." I spoke

"How was this time different love?" He quietly said. 

"I was so angry, and I could feel something shift inside of me and I was able to kill Neron." 

"Pandora, we need to tell the team this because if there is a way to kill him, I have to at least try."

"What do you mean 'I'? You're crazy if you think I'm letting you do this by yourself." 

"I don't want to risk you getting hurt love." His voice let out a sigh.

"Absolutely not, you do not get to pull this card John, we are in this together." I was starting to get frustrated with him because this burden wasn't just on him. 

"Settle down, Pandora please." He said with plea in his eyes. 

"John, you have to stop thinking this is only a battle for you. You have a whole team, you have me, you have to stop thinking you're alone." I pulled away from his grasp and put my hand on top of his. 

"You're not alone, and you'll never be alone again." He just sat there silently probably not even registering a word I said. 

*John's Pov*

"You're not alone, and you'll never be alone again." All my life I've been searching for someone who would say those words to me and I just gazed at her face in awe and then I cupped her cheeks in my hands and placed my lips on top of hers. 

She was the one person who made everything seem timeless, and I just wish I could help her because her visions have been so frequent lately and she's in so much pain. 

After she deepened our kiss she made her way to the top of my lap, ruffling my hair as she did so. I let my hands roam up the back of her baggy t-shirt, as she kissed my on my collarbone, until I ran my hand up her back and felt something like a welt popping out. 

She immediately pulled away, and looked at me with fear; her eyes were filled with worry. 

"I must've forgotten to cover them up again." She spoke as she hopped off of my lap. 

"Love, what exactly is them?" I quietly asked her. 

She was hesitant at giving me an answer at first, but eventually broke way.

"Ace..he wasn't always a gentleman. He'd get really angry at me for staying with Jasper.." Her voice was trailing off. 

I brought her back closer to me and rubbed her back with the palm of my hand; "Love it's alright you're safe with me." 

She inhaled a big breath, and then finished her sentence. 

"He'd abuse me, most of them didn't leave scars; but the ones that stuck I get reminded of everyday." She spoke as she slowly slipped out of her t-shirt and bent forward into the light. 

*Pandora's Pov* 

The only person that knew that Ace abused me was Jasper, but as I knelt forward on the bed; I felt John trace his fingers over the several scars that were left from Ace. 

"I know what you must be thinking, why I stayed with him. I thought he could change, and he did, I stuck through it. I'd go to Jasper's nights it get really bad but, he did change but, not before it was too late to show anybody." I rambled on. 

John just sat in silence, as I felt him placing kisses on my back where they were located at. I was going to eventually tell him; I just wanted to wait to see if he was all in with in or not. 

"Pandora, I love you but you deserved so much better than this." 

"I know I did, and look what happened, I found you" I gripped onto one of his hands as I turned around. 

"I just want to know why you didn't want to tell me? Was it something I did?" His voice sounded sad when he asked this question. 

"No, John you didn't do anything and I know you understand what it feels like; I was just waiting to see if you were all in before I poured the rest of my secrets to you." 

He pulled my face up to his with his finger placed under my chin, looking me straight in the eyes.

"Listen to me Pandora, I am all in with you, with us. You're in my veins Pandora and there's no getting you out." 

"Jesus Christ, I am so in love with you."
