"are you sure you want to do this jeno? that is possibly the man the killed your boyfriend's uncle, and by doing that you become a liability to the case." taeyong asked, concerned about the young detective.
"of course i am. i was brought into this case for a reason hyung, and if johnny trusts me enough to get on this case, i'm pretty sure i can take a simple interrogation."
"alright then, jeno. i trust you." with a smudge of hesitance, taeyong let jeno into the interrogation room, closing the door behind him after he had fully entered.
the man in cuffs looked up at his visitor and began to speak, "look, i don't understand why you have me here for something that happened at a bar nine years ago. i don't even know what i did! what in the hell did even i do huh? please enlighten me, because i've been sitting here for a god awful three hours with little to no knowledge of why i'm here in the first place."
jeno just calmly walked over the table and took his seat across from the man, while placing a couple files onto the table between them. "we have been lead to a conclusion that you, choi jihyung, are a murderer. a murderer that killed na minjoon due to an affair he had with your wife."
"what?! i have nothing to hide, and i am definitely not a murderer! i've never killed anyone in my whole entire life! i have a child for christ's sake. why would i ever put my child's life in jeopardy because of a stupid affair that happened long ago?" the man pulled at his restraints as he glared up at the detective in front of him.
that morning, police forces had went to put an arrest on choi jihyung. the son was utterly flabbergasted, seeing as the man of the house got taken away in cuffs. his son yelled for his father and furiously questioned why his father was being taken away, but was only held back by the police. he was an innocent man, he had claimed.
choi jihyung was still clad in his pajamas, his appearance not as pleasant as he would like it to be in a situation like this. the detective in front of him were asking him questions left and right, determined to get a confession out of the man. but so far, jihyung stubbornly stood his ground, still claiming that he was indeed an innocent man.
"it didn't seem so stupid when you threatened to kill na minjoon now did it?" jeno's voice was collected and stern, and as patient as he seemed, the male was slowly getting irritated.
don't get him wrong, he's had practice and whatnot, but this was his first time really on the field. it only made sense for him to be the least bit annoyed.
"i was fueled by rage back then. i admit that i was a bit too rash and overdramatic about the whole ordeal, but i was in a tough spot back then. with debts to pay, a child to take care of, a job shift that lasted almost the whole day, then on top of that you find out that the love of your life has been seeing another man? who wouldn't get mad?" he says, slowly calming down as he understood that getting mad wasn't the his best bet of getting out of here any sooner.
