TAKE CARE OF HIM
。。。
"where are you taking me today handsome?" jaemin asked, walking up next to the elder and intertwining their hands as if it were the most natural thing ever.
"somewhere special." was what jeno answered with, silently loving how their hands had fitted together perfectly; as if they were puzzle pieces made only to fit one another.
the city of seoul was currently transitioning into fall. days were turning much cooler as summertime plants started to go into a deep slumber, waiting for the next summer to arise.
everyone on the streets next to them were wearing more warmer clothes, not wanting to succumb to the coldness around them.
the two were in a much quieter part of seoul, where there were fewer people and more vintage looking establishments. jeno thought it was a perfect place for another date with jaemin in the future.
they walked and walked before coming to the entrance of an art workshop. the place was small and in between two other larger shops, but that didn't stop it from looking homey to the two.
a man, probably in his late forties was sitting at one of the paint stations, concentrated on a piece he was working on. from the angle he was sitting at, jaemin and jeno could sneak a peek at what he was working on.
the two went awestruck at the beautifully intricate painting of the han river at sundown. the colors mixed in harmony, giving it that touch of life. almost as if the man had taken a photo of it instead.
jeno then pulled jaemin towards the entrance, cautiously making his way in so he didn't surprise the man too much.
the man looked up at the visitors and broke into a brilliant smile, causing jaemin's eyes to widen a bit as it was a smile very similar to jeno's.
"jeno! my boy, how have you been?" he put down his paintbrush and walked over to his son, engulfing him in a tight hug.
jeno momentarily let go of jaemin's hand to melt into his father's hold. it's been a while since he's seen his father, and it was nice to reunite with him after so long. long enough to see that his wrinkles were getting more prominent, and that more strands of grey were streaking through his raven locks.
either than that, his eye smile that he inherited always remained timeless. which gave jeno a sense of comfort, reminding him of home.
yet, the evident spark of sadness embedded in his eyes, still remain lingering years after his mother's death. jeno could only ignore his absent parent for now and be glad that his old man was still here, living and breathing right in front of him.
