once jeno heard about jaemin's sentencing hearing coming up, he knew he wanted to at least hear it. and maybe he can get updates from donghyuck and the others, since for the past few days, he refused to give anything related to the trials attention.
today, he felt the slightest bit better. his dad even made his favorites for breakfast, which was a total mood boost might he add. the man always knew what to do to cheer jeno up when he was down, and he couldn't be more thankful.
walking up to the courthouse, he didn't expect as many people there as there were. it was insane how many broadcast crews he saw along with reporters, and any regular civilians.
unfortunately for him, he got stuck in the whole mess and could barely find his way out anymore. everywhere he turned, he had to blurt out a string of apologies due to the fact that he was bumping into everyone and everyone was bumping into him.
jeno really thought he was going to get trampled and squashed like a bug if it not for someone pulling him out of the mass of people.
"jeno! you're fucking alive! do you know how worried i was?! biTCH YOU SCARED THE LIVING HELL OUT OF ME. C'MERE YOU RAT." donghyuck looked as bad as jeno, but the male still was able to pull out his sassy attitude with no problem whatsoever.
he was pulled into a tight hug, that almost knocked all the air out of his lungs.
"h-hyuck...i can't...breathe—" jeno let out the biggest inhale once donghyuck let go of him.
"that's what you get for stressing out a queen." the younger retorted, crossing his arms over his chest.
"'m sorry hyuck. i know it was sudden and—"
"oh knock it off jeno, i know why and you don't need to apologize. i understand that, but what i don't understand is that why are you here?" he shot jeno a questioning look which cause the latter to avoid his gaze.
"i...i just wanted to see him...one last time." jeno admitted quietly.
donghyuck, being already hard of hearing, didn't catch on to what jeno said. add on to the loud crowd not that far from them, it made it even more difficult.
"what?"
the detective sighed and pulled donghyuck to less a crowded area, "i said: i just wanted to see him one last time."
