the next morning came around and jaemin woke up to the sun shining in his eyes. he covered the light with his hand before taking in his surroundings.
right, he was at jeno's. and he sure felt a whole lot better than the night before.
he looked down to his body to see that he was changed into more comfortable clothing, which was definitely better than his alcohol scented ones.
sitting himself up, he finally took in the smell of food and in reaction, his stomach started to grumble. taking a moment to stretch out his limbs, he then hopped out of bed and made his way to jeno's kitchen.
the elder male was just humming quietly to himself whilst standing by the stove, stirring the pot. jaemin quietly tiptoed his way towards jeno and latched on to the other's back, back hugging him.
"holy--jaemin you scared me."
"mornin' handsome." jaemin greeted with his voice a few octaves lower than normal.
"good morning to you too. oh-uh, i didn't have anything else at home so i'm just cooking up some ramen, if that's cool with you."
jaemin just snuggled his face into the crook of the elder's neck, taking in his scent before answering, "i'd rather have you, but ramen is fine i guess."
jeno's cheek instantly flared up pink at the latter's statement. he could never get over how casual jaemin was saying such things. it was like the male had no filter whatsoever. if he ever did that, he'd probably want to bury himself in a ditch right afterwards. scratch that, he'd definitely want to bury himself in a ditch afterwards.
"i called your boss this morning and told them about the situation and they said you could have the rest of the week off to rest." he informed, turning off the stove after the ramen was fully cooked.
"yay, i get a full three days with you all to myself." the younger cheered, placing a quick peck on jeno's neck before unlatching himself from the male.
"i still have my work to attend to though, angel." jeno reminded, causing jaemin to slump in his stature while having a pout on his lips.
that with the combination of the little ponytail he still had on made jeno want to go into cardiac arrest right then and there. how can one human being be so freaking cute?! korea, explain.
"can't you just take me to work with you?" jaemin pleaded, giving jeno his puppy eyes.
"i-i can ask..."
with that being said, jaemin went back to his jolly ol' mood, jumping around like a little kid being given a whole store of candy, his little ponytail bouncing along too. it was all too precious, and if jeno could stop time right there and just bask in the younger's beauty, he would.
"angel?"
"hm?"
"i know this is really random but...uh...can i possibly have a kiss? i mean i gave you one last night, so i just thought it'd be fair to—" jeno's small ramble was cut off short by jaemin pressing his lips on his.
jeno stood frozen for a few seconds before reciprocating the kiss, and let's just say he felt like he was on cloud nine. it was his first actual kiss with the male, and everything was as he thought it would be. though a bit chapped, jaemin's felt heavenly on his. as jeno leaned in closer to deepen the kiss, jaemin pulled away with a satisfied smirk.
"you don't have to ask me for kisses you know? my lips are practically yours already, handsome."

with a little persuasion, taeyong let jeno bring jaemin along with him to the station. but only on one condition; jaemin had to stay at jeno's desk. he couldn't go into any other rooms other than the main office.
jaemin agreed to the terms, and now he was happily skipping beside jeno while holding his hand, swinging their interlocked hands back and forth.
"why are so giddy jaemin? it's only work." jeno asked, still admiring the younger's bright state.
"yeah, and i get to spend more time with you handsome. we've been quite busy with our own things, we only got to have cuddles and netflix on some nights. so, i think this is a small level up." jaemin's smile still stayed on his face, eyes crinkling up at the corners.
gosh, jaemin just had to have this effect on jeno doesn't he?
with just a smile, he could make jeno's whole body feel like it's floating with love. but what could he say? the flirty yet cute barista could make his heart do flips and cheeks turn red any time of the day.
once they made it to the station, jeno lead jaemin to his desk but was stopped halfway by his uncle with a stupid shit eating grin on his face. not too far behind him, jeno could already see donghyuck's figure speed walking their way.
"may i ask why bartender dude is here?" johnny asked, acting all innocent but in actuality he heard their phone call with taeyong a while ago.
"he's just going to hang out here for a bit while i go work on the case." jeno explained, not noticing johnny's gaze lower to his and jaemin's intertwined hands.
then all hell broke loose when donghyuck entered the conversation with a very loud and obnoxious gasp.
"BITCH! YOU BROUGHT YOUR BABY BOY TO WORK--" donghyuck was once again silenced by jeno's hand, and you can guess the color of jeno's face by now.
"can't you whisper for a change?" the black haired male tutted, removing his hand once donghyuck got the notion to shut up.
fits of small giggles were heard around the precinct and jeno wanted nothing else than to bury himself six feet under.
"sorry, but really though, nice to meet you jeno's boo thang. i'm lee donghyuck. this dork's partner in crime." the latter held out his hand to jaemin for a handshake and jaemin gladly took it.
"nice to meet you too. i'm jaemin, this dork's angel." upon hearing his nickname for jaemin, he felt all mushy and gooey inside. he wanted to squeal, but he couldn't. because work environment meant business, not freaking out like some crazed fanboy.
"already assigned the nicknames i see--"
"seo! lee! get your asses back to work and stop oogling at jeno's boyfriend like some kids at a zoo. and jeno, please get jaemin to your desk, i think we may have found something." taeyong's stern voice automatically sent the other witnessing officers back to work, and the ones he addressed to oblige.
