"Do you really think she has powers?" Turtle asked, fidgeting with his armband.
"Yes, I do. She seems pretty closed off, even in her mind." Moon replied, glancing around the cave. The six had decided to meet up in Moon and Kinkajou's cave during free time, needing to talk about the new student.
"Plus she has those silver tear scale thingys like yours, Moon." Kinkajou commented. Winter sighed. Can't he just have one normal year, without every possible thing going wrong? Well, maybe not every possible thing. Hailstorm was back and Moon.....
"What are we going to do?" Turtle looked at the ground, breaking Winter's train of thoughts.
Qibli answered before Moon could. "I think we should try to get close to her, to learn what her powers are if she has any. Or we could get close to that Zero, he was talking to her today. "
"But can't Moon just read her thoughts and figure that out?" Kinkajou asked.
"Well, I don't know. Maybe she doesn't think about it a lot, or maybe because she knows about powers, she found someway to block her secret out," Moon sighed, "if she has powers."
They all looked at the cave floor for a moment in silence. Finally, Winter sighed and broke the quiet. "So what's the plan? We get close to her, or should we just leave her be?"
"Leave her be? She could be very dangerous! Why would ANYONE ever think about leaving a potentially harmful dragon alone?" Qibli looked shocked that Winter even suggested that.
"Well, then, Mr. I-know-everything, how do you propose we go about befriending a potentially 'very dangerous' dragonet, who may or may not have powers! If you're SO WORRIED about her being oh so dangerous, how about you go tell that to the teachers? 'Oh, hey, Tsunami. Yeah, I think that new dragonet could be very threatening to the school because she has two scales like Moon and Darkstalker.' But, Qibli, Fatespeaker has those scales too, but it doesn't look like she has NightWing powers."
Qibli opened his mouth to say something back, but paused. "Um...." He looked at his talons, and Winter felt a twist of pride and let a smug smile creep across his face. He had beat Qibli in this battle. But, if Qibli was right...there is an even more important battle ahead.

Zero said goodbye to Secretdawn, who just liked to be called Dawn, and she shyly said bye back. He turned towards his cave, smiling to himself over the day he had. After history class, he had said hello to her and asked if she wanted him to show her where her next class was. She had looked at him skeptically and had been hesitant, but accepted his help. He spent the rest of the day with her, and had even helped her unpack during free time. Now, he walked back to his dorm, and felt happy for finally working towards having a real friend.
******************
Dawn smiled. Maybe her mom had not been wrong about everything. Zero hadn't even asked about her parents or what she classified as a tribe for once. Usually, that's the first thing friendly dragons ask. But Zero-he didn't even seem eager to know. Of course, it was only a matter of time before he did ask, but for now, Dawn could just enjoy the peace and the blooming of a possible friendship. No, don't get your hopes up, she thought to herself as Dawn made her way towards the cave she shared with Tamarin. When she walked in, Tamarin was already there and the RainWing greeted her. Dawn smiled and nodded a hello, but then realized Tamarin wouldn't be able to see her, so she said hi back. Dawn smiled to herself, grinning at the new memories of Zero and Tamarin, who didn't judge her. She slipped into a sleep, and her peace was shattered the second her nightmare came rushing into her head. The last conscious thought Dawn had was a question, that when was the last time she had a good dream? Not in awhile, surely. But maybe-soon-that would change.

Turtle has an idea. Tsunami's class was first the next day, and if he and his friends could annoy her enough with questions.. she might want to go on a hunting trip. Just a moment or two alone with Secretdawn and his friends might be enough. They just need to find out about her powers, right?
Kinkajou had other ideas ."But I wanna be her frieeeeend!" Kinkajou whined, dragging out the last word. "But it's dangerous, Kinkajou." Qibli said.
"Dangerous? Qibli! When has that ever stopped any of us? Plus, Moon has powers and so does Turtle, but you aren't scared of them." Winter look agitated and confused with this new plan.
"Well, yes, but this is different. Chameleon, Darkstalker, anyone with even a powerful object or powers has the ability to be dangerous!" Turtle felt his spine shrink at the mention of his animus magic being dangerous. Qibli immediately regretted his words as he saw Turtle shrink back.
"Well, maybe this hunting trip idea is our best bet to get closer to her, but we shouldn't just walk up and ask about it. It's really a great idea, Turtle." Moon said, trying to reassure the SeaWing.
"So. The plan is that we annoy Tsunami, she takes us outside for a hunting trip like the last time, we tell her that we should split into two groups and we hope this new dragonet will be in a group with one of us to....what? To interrogate her?" Winter asked, skeptical.
"Well, yeah, I guess," Turtle said "Only 'interrogate' sounds a bit harsh." Peril opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off by Moon.
"Well, class will start soon. Let's do this." Kinkajou sighed with defeat as everyone filed out. Turtle cast one backwards glance to see Kinkajou trailing behind him, then turned and started in the direction of Tsunami's class.

"So. Moon says there is a possibility of another whole continent, with possibly more dragons, so what about that?"
"Well, actually, Hope told me that."
"Still. if there is another continent, how would we get there? Surely flying would be to tiring, even for a SkyWing. Especially if there is no place to land and relax."
"But why wouldn't we send SeaWings to explore?"
"How long can a SeaWing last without rest?"
"Simple. Rest in the water."
"Fair enough, but this is all depending on if there is another continent."
"True. And, if so, why haven't any of those dragons come to us?"
"Maybe the same reasons, or maybe they don't think there is another continent but theirs."
"I don't know. But what if there were no other dragons on that continent, and they were just ruled by something else?"
"That's a weird thought. But couldn't we just get there using animus magic?"
"It would use a lot of magic, and would be a waste if there is no continent but ours."
"We never found the NightWing island before the portal in the rainforest. There could be bigger land masses out there."
"What if-"
"STOP! Enough! We are going hunting!" Tsunami roared, putting a silence to Winter, Qibli, Moon, Peril and Turtle at once. The teacher walked out of the cave, muttering under her breath. The other dragonets followed after, although Zero and Secretdawn left together, talking as they walked out of the cave, leaving only Peril, Winter, Qibli, Moon, Kinkajou and Turtle in the classroom. The six grinned at each other, even Kinkajou was excited for this plan, although before was a bit sad. They just might get some answers from the mysterious, new dragonet this special hunting trip.
(Alright. Hope you all liked it, and next chapter is when things kinda start getting more exciting.)
