Days have passed, it was now the day of the national competition. Minhyuk and I are here in the national sports center with Mr. Choi for the competition. For the past week, our school mates have been planning to attend here and witness the contest. It kinda flattered me since they kept on sending their congrats and compliments.

"Okay, you two good luck for today!" Mr. Choi lifted our spirits as he conducted some breathing exercises

Breathe in

Breathe out

Breathe in

Breathe out

I continued yet was interrupted.

"AERA! Our daughter!" I placed my hand on my forehead as I sighed looking at my family holding up a banner which wrote, "AERA, OUR LOVELY DAUGHTER IS THE BEST!"

Gosh, why are they so cringy? On the other hand, I appreciate their presence and efforts for coming here to support me.

Mr. Choi and Minhyuk chuckled as they saw my family walking towards me.

My mom cupped my cheeks and flashed her widest grin.

"Aera, you can do it!" She softly slapped my cheeks as my dad patted my head. Meanwhile, Jungkook, who's technically inside of my uncle's body, was hugging me as if he was a koala.

"Noona! Good luck to you and Minhyuk-hyung!" He said cutely which made me chuckle. I could remember the old times.

Minhyuk and I along with Mr. Choi head inside as we saw a huge number of students preparing for the competition. I felt wobbly since I never experienced any competitions back when I was younger. It made me feel overwhelmed.

Then, the competition started. There were five rounds of the spelling contest. All in all, there were fifteen schools who participated including our school. So that makes it thirty individuals who are participating. In the first round, which was the easiest round, all schools were able to proceed to the next round.

Soon, the competition is now heading towards the last round. Only two schools were able to excel to the last round which was our school and the other. Minhyuk and I prayed that we hope we'll win.

"Aera-ssi, we can do it." He softly whispered to my ear as I flinched a little because it tickled.

The announcer then told us that we had to spell fifty words correctly. My heart couldn't stop beating as the atmosphere got thicker and thicker.

The announcer then stated the first word which was luckily a medical term. I told Minhyuk the spelling and he gave me a high five.

Then we were at the last word, all of these words were medical terms which made it quite easy for me.

"Time's up! Alright, contestants do put down your writing materials and hand-in your papers." The announcer said as we gave the papers to the judges.

Minhyuk and I sat on the chairs provided and clasps my hands together, praying that we would win.

"Aera-ssi" Minhyuk suddenly spoke which made flinch again.

"What is it?" I asked

"Good thing you studied medicine or we couldn't have got the correct spelling of those words." He told me which made me chuckle.

"Oh, it's not–" and there I realized....

I made a mistake.

"Contestants, we would like to have you on stage as we are about to announce the winners." Minhyuk held my wrist as we climbed up on the stage.

I could my mom holding up the banner she made as a sign of her undying support.

I couldn't breathe properly as I realized I made a very huge mistake. Why did I expose myself?

"Congratulations, Kim Minhyuk and Hwang Ae Ra of Seoul National High School!" The announcer said as the audience clapped their hands.

The judges then handed us the medals and certificates.

"This school is a one of a kind, their score is 50/50!" The announcer then said.

"Kim Minhyuk." The two of us stayed behind our supporters as we talked privately.

"Stop the act Ella." He suddenly said.

"Minhyuk, can you stop saying those things? Our families are at risk if we continue this. I am hiding my true identity to you just to save our family. Have you even thought about that?" I was angry. The fact that we were put in this time together to save the relationship of our family, he refused to do it.

"I'm sorry, alright? I just can't stop thinking about you. It seems like it's been years we've been in this time. Have you also thought about what I feel too? Do you think that I'd just agree to accomplish this mission just to save our family? I know they're important but what about us, Ella? Have you even thought–"

"SHUT UP!" I couldn't help it but feel disappointed with him.

"How selfish of you, Kim Seokjin. I thought you cared about this." With that, I walked away. I ran away from him as I cried.

I sat on the grass at a certain park. I was confused. Jin may have point. I know the two of us are trying to fix everything but does he have to be so selfish that he wouldn't want our families to be fixed? I cried and somehow thought about how to solve everything.

I closed my eyes for a moment and reflected on everything.

"Noona, are you alright?" I could barely open my eyes as my head hurt.

My eyes blinked a few times before I could clearly see my surroundings. I looked down only to see I was laying in a bed. A hospital bed. I looked up to see the white ceiling. My eyes averted to the sides, there I saw my mom and Jungkook.

"Ella, are you alright? I was so worried." I could feel my mom's embrace which I didn't respond to.

My mind was so occupied that I can't even think straight. Why was I here now? Did we fail the mission?

My mom slowly got off of me and looked at me with concern.

"Dear, what's the matter?" She asked me as she patted my hair. I held her hand which was patting my hair and looked at her.

I looked at my mother seriously, "Mom, is it true?"

"What Ella? What is true?" She asked me

"You and Mr. Kim, were you really lovers before?" Mom widened her eyes as she heard what I said. She silently nodded as I could feel her crying.

"Is it also true that you used dad to forget or get revenge on Mr. Kim?" My eyes were starting to be filled with tears as I asked her.

"Ella, why are you asking me this so suddenly? Where did you even–" I cut her off

"From dad! He once crashed into Jungkook's group's dorm and told me everything. Yes, I may not believe him 100% but he seemed to have a point." There I saw her tears slowly falling from her eyes.

She silently nodded as I could sense she hesitated. Jungkook hugged mom as I was there laying and I cried.

So, I failed the mission because of our mistakes. I should have just pretended not to know about what Jin was saying. My family is still the same but what about us?
