3:12 PM.
2 weeks later...I was playing in my first game. We were winning of course, the other team was trash. I smacked the ball over the net right before the buzzer went off saying the game was over. I did me and Zya's handshake with her before laughing.
We went into the locker room before grabbing my stuff.
"Come on, you want to come meet my family?" I asked before she nodded.
"Yeah, my moms needs to know who you are if I'm going to spend the night at your house," I said.
Zya's birthday was coming up, she was turning 15. Soon we walked out of the locker room to find everybody. My mom was the first person I saw. She ran up to me before hugging me.
"You did so good," she smiled.
"Good job," James said as he gave me a high five.
Everybody else said their congratulations except Quinton of course.
"Uh this is Zya, Zya this is my mom, James, Alana, and well you already know those three idiots," I said causing her to chuckle.
She shook hands with James and my mom before I asked if I could go over her house next weekend.
"Yeah, I don't care. You're going to have to give me your guardians number so I can keep contact," my mom said and Zya nodded.
Zya's phone dinged before she said her grandmother was here so she had to go. We said our goodbyes before she left.
"She seems like a nice girl, hopefully nothing like Adrian," she said.
"Yeah..."
I fell behind everybody else before Quinton started walking beside me.
"You did a good job," he said.
"You had to wait until nobody was around to say that?"
"I like your shorts," he said looking down at me.
"My spandex?" I said with a slight smile because of how weird the compliment coming from him was.
"Mmhmm," He said biting his lip he tried to play it off but I saw it.
We got into the truck and instead of him sitting in the very back he sat beside me. He sat closer than usual to the point where our knees were touching which was kind of weird to me.
After we got home and everyone had taken their showers I sat in my unpacked room since my walls still weren't painted as I scrolled through Instagram. Kaden and Alana eventually came into my room to hang out.
"I don't even know if I want to do cheer, it was just something to do," Alana said.
"Yeah... I would see you playing soccer," I said.
"Well Teagan's doing it with me-"
"Oh hell no," Kaden said.
"What?"
"That bitch is shady. And she was just talkin shit about you. I say quit cheer and wait till soccer season rolls around," he said.
"What did she say?" I asked.
"She said that you ain't got no rhythm and she don't know what they did in that ghetto school but she's surprised you made the team and all t-" he was cut off by yelling.
We could hear James and my mom yelling at each other all the way from their room which was on a completely different hall. We tried to talk over them but they were so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves think.
I don't know what was going on with them. Whatever it was it had to have been serious but it also wasn't my business.
