Jimin POV.

- Wait, is this a joke?!

- Wait, is this a joke?!

There is no other sound but a soft laughter in response, all too familiar to Chul-soo's carelessly let-out giggles only at the best of his times. It's that laugh, the one that infamously presents itself with good news to be delivered.

With actually delivered good news!

- How is this possible? -I ask again, holding myself back from too much excitement. Wouldn't wanna spill the noodles bowl on my lap, I spent some good fifteen minutes perfecting the flavor.

- I don't know Jimin-ah, it just happened... We're on our way to the hospital now. I'll call you later, okay?

I nod even though he can't see, squeezing the chopsticks in my hand in a silent prayer that everything goes well.

- Good luck, chingu-yah. Since you don't want me there, at least send my regards to your parents!

- I will. -I can almost see him smile from this side of the line. -Thank you. I mean it.

I sigh with a fond laughter, pointing the eating utensils to the air as if urging him to leave.

- Go already, dumbass! Don't forget to pass by later.

He sends me a long hum and then the line goes off.

I drop the chopsticks next to me on the sofa and contemplate staring at the wall in front.

Wow. Miracles do happen after all, don't they?

- Lucky you, Chul-ah. -I smile, watching the layers of noodles on my plate as if they are supposed to give some meaning to all this that's happening. -What about me then? Am I gonna get lucky any time soon? -I ask a little cutely curious, and then shake my head at my own silliness, back at business in eating my noodles.

Chul's father is finally getting some treatment. After years of economic instability and insufficient funds, which Chul-sso worked hard in covering up, his father has finally had the opportunity to get proper surgery and treatment for his illness. Chul-soo mentioned something about a 'free treatment opportunity' but I have no idea what that was about.

Anyway, I'm happy for him. He deserves the best, his family does too. They are the kindest people on earth.

...

Living alone has brought a self-talker out of me. That's maybe why I'm counting the things I need to pick up leaving while walking around the house.

I ruffle my hair in anxiety, taking a second look everywhere to make sure I haven't left out something important like my wallet or keys.

Hm. Everything seems to be there.

How do I look? Well, the mirror doesn't seem to lie about my decency... White t-shirt and tight blue jeans can never go wrong, can they?
