Jimin POV.
Call it goodness or lunacy. It's the part of me that never changes, that I sometimes hate but other times embrace, the part that I know will always trouble me in life but will keep existing to make sure I follow the moral code and live as a decent human.
I can't help but want to do the right thing, even though sometimes I feel like I'm betraying myself.
Years should have taught me something about selfishness, wanting to follow my heart and live my dreams the way I want to. Jungkook should have taught me that. I thought I had finally learned that skill. However, I'm standing in front of this hospital room door and that has only one meaning:
Jimin can't exist without benevolence.
Jimin will sometimes swallow his tears and other times hold back his desires, but Jimin will do the right thing for the benefit of the bigger good and Jimin has learned how to own it. He won't feel ashamed of standing up for others, even though they weren't the best towards himself.
- Come on. -Namjoon hyung nudges my shoulder, a fond look in his eyes that radiate of gratefulness. He's the one that convinced me, hence the reason I have agreed to doing things behind Jungkook's back.
The door reveals the smell of a flowery room spray, somewhat distracting from the hospital incense we've been inhaling for the past fifteen minutes. We were unlucky to have arrived a little earlier than visiting hours - which caused me a little more anxiety of the anticipated, but whatever - we're at least here. And he, is laying right at that bed in front of us.
Yeonjun, that's who. Heavily injured BigHit member assuming to have been assaulted by BigHit corporation CEO Bang Shi Hyuk.
Our entrance must have awakened some unwelcome cognition that he seems preoccupied before we even make it besides him. His body is covered with stitches, from what we heard, and it looks as such with the way they wrapped him up. Just looking at him makes my heart ache.
- Annyeonghaseyo Yeonjun-ah. -Namjoon hyung takes the lead, voice heavy and eyes calculated as he approaches the younger and takes silent permission for existence.
- A-annyeonghaseyo, hyung. -Yeonjun tries buckling up in a hurry of respect but his crippled state doesn't allow him to do much. It just ends up with us settling on the chairs next to his bed and staring at his awkward figure quite unsure about how to act around us. -Thank you for visiting. -He bows his head hastily, eyes hesitantly switching between the two of us.
- We're sorry about the unfortunate event. -I speak up, keeping my voice soft and polite, which he seems to welcome with a nodding smile. -We wanted to come visit you as your hyungs. We spent quite some time together at the time, isn't it?
- Ah, of course, of course! -Yeonjun shows a much more genuine smile, nodding continuously as a faint blush spreads across his cheeks. -You took really good care of us back then, hyungnims, thank you for still thinking of us.
Namjoon hyung and I exchange warm looks with each other, looks like we might have a good conversation here. His dimple at least promises of such flowers, I don't know why I trust it with my life.
- What... happened? I mean. -Namjoon hyung clears his throat, sensing the tension in Yeonjun's eyes when the boy takes in the question. -Is it all true?
I pray silently as Yeonjun gathers his decisions and opens his mouth to speak.
- I got into an accident. -He says dully.
Doesn't seem about right.
- I see. -Namjoon hyung nods, looking at his palms squeezed in between his legs. -Jimin-ssi here... -He shows me politely. -He will be asked to testify about Bang Shi Hyuk, and we wanted to come take your view on the issue regarding BigHit before making a decision. We're sorry for bringing this up when you're in a sick condition it's just...
