"Try this one on," Hana instructed, handing Jungkook one of his matte black ties. He took it begrudgingly before placing it on the top of the dresser, only for Hana to disappear back into the closet and reappear with another tie, this one a black silk, "No, try this one."
"Hana," Jungkook said her name almost as a declaration, clearly tired of playing Russian Roulette with his entire collection of ties, "I'm not wearing a tie." His tone of voice left no room for Hana to object. That still didn't stop her from projecting her nerves onto him, afraid that any little, stupid thing would cause everything to go wrong.
"But-"
"Baby," Jungkook leveled, grabbing Hana by the shoulders and pulling her into a tender hug, "Either they're going to like me, or they won't. A tie isn't going to change that. And let's be honest, I have a pretty good history with the Bang family." Hana knew that Jungkook was only joking, but her mind flashed back to how much Chan had really loved him, always open he had been about how he hoped Hana would date him.
Ultimately he was right; a dumb tie wouldn't determine whether or not her parents would accept Jungkook. Deep down, she even knew they would love him, just like she did, but this was the first time she'd brought a man to meet her parents. This was the first time there was a man to meet her parents in the first place.
"You're right," she signed, wrapping her arms around him, letting her head rest on his chest as it silently rose and fell with his breaths. Their surprise housewarming party had only been yesterday, and she hadn't lived here for too long - but it truly felt like home. No matter where they were, feeling his arms around her felt like home.
"However," he commented, pulling her mind away from coming to terms with the fact he wouldn't be wearing a completely formal suit and tie, not that they were going anywhere too formal, anyways, "I think I can find a use for one of these when we come home," he grinned as he leaned over towards the dresser, grabbing the last tie she'd taken from their closet.
"We have to be there in less than half an hour," she pouted, suddenly wishing she could postpone this dinner just a little longer. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be long until her parents went back to Australia, and she really wanted the to meet Jungkook.
"I can't think of a better reason to be late," he grinned, wrapping the tie around her neck, and letting it hang around her shoulders like a shawl. It took every ounce of self discipline for Hana to not take off her cute red sundress, knowing her mom had probably spent all day cooking, getting ready for this dinner.
"We can't be late," Hana leveled, pursing her lips. She knew that she was mere seconds away from completely caving into him.
"I've wanted to slip that dress off of you since you put it on," he continued his courting, having leaned in close enough that his cool breath brushed through the fine hair around her ear. His close proximity sent her reeling, as if she wasn't already used to it. As if she didn't sleep in his arms every night and wake up to him every morning. He still had the same effect on Hana that he did the first time he held her.
