Today was the day.

Hana had been dominating Overwatch Competitive Mode with BulletproofKid for years, and now she'd finally meet him. She wanted to feel more at ease than she did, having known him for so long, but honestly, she didn't know him at all. She knew his main on Overwatch was Genji, and that's about it.

She didn't even know his name.

What she did know, however, was that he had been there for her countless times, constantly lending her his ear, making her laugh when she was irrevocably depressed, and trusting her enough to confide in her as well. The fact alone that he had placed that trust in her was enough to make him feel closer to her than any other friend she's had.

Today was the perfect day, as summer began turning into fall. The leaves hadn't quite started changing from green to the various golden and reddish hues, children still hung out all day at the pool as they enjoyed their break from school, and most importantly, Pumpkin Spice Lattes still weren't on the season Starbucks menu yet. However, a cool breeze swayed the branches, giving a relaxing break from the dry heat.

Hana picked at the distressed rips in her black jeans, feeling her smooth tanned skin underneath. Not wanting to seem too excited about today, she didn't put too much thought into her outfit, pairing her jeans with a white t-shirt, PUMA written across the front in bold black font, matching her black Authentic Vans, breaking the achromatic look up with a cropped acid wash denim jacket.

Her finger circled the plastic lid of her coffee cup as she tried to rally her nerves by focusing on her excitement for the impending PSL, one of her all-time favorite drinks to mark her all-time favorite season.

"What time did he say he wanted to meet?" Rina asked, breaking Hana from her - lack of - concentration. She looked at her rose gold wristwatch, noting it was already fifteen minutes past his requested meet-up time.

No matter what, that's what he had said when he had messaged her the details. No matter what, I will be in the town square center at noon, whether you decide to meet me there or not.

"I don't think he's coming," Hana sighed, feeling slightly embarrassed that she'd been stood up. She would use that feeling to cover up the fact that she was slightly disappointed; this time around, he'd talked her in to coming. Despite being reluctant, she'd agreed, and he couldn't be bothered to be here.

Rina held sympathy in her eyes as she looked at Hana; she had told her friend about how much today meant to her. Allowing the embarrassment to drain, Hana realized she didn't have a reason to feel such things in front of Rina. The small brunette would undoubtedly lift her spirits up in any situation, including this one.

"Well, his loss is my gain, and what a beautiful one it is," Rina smirked, stretching her arms and legs out as she stood up. Questioningly, Hana looked up at her, not yet moving from her spot. Maybe he was just running late - it's not like he had any way to contact her. Maybe if she just waited another five minutes, he'd finally show up.
